Best word for this place is “mediocre”. We visited in a larger group and ordered a few side dishes as starters (the place does not have a dedicated started menu). Some were better than others. Roast beef stood out as the worst: over cooked low quality meat. Additionally, we asked for some bread on the side and we were told it’s not on the menu. After some discussion with the staff we were able to get some though. I had a steak as a main dish and I was not asked how it should be cooked. It came well done, together with cheap quality fries. There’s no condiments. The staff is not particularly helpful, but also not outright bad. The desserts were pretty good. Ice coffee was very small. Pleasant seating outside. Crowded. Great food and great service. We were lucky enough to have a waitress that spoke nearly perfect English. We had been in Japan for a week by then and it was tough to find anyone who could communicate in full English sentences (made us wish we knew Japanese). Our waitress here was more than just an English speaker, she was very attentive to my girlfriend's need for Gluten-Free food. Gab Monarch is the only restaurant located an Umekita ship hall in the middle of the park on the first floor. This is a very well designed restaurant that serve western food and offers very quality and affordable breakfast. This place can be crowded during weekends since their breakfast meals specially the Pastrami Sandwich is very good. Their burgers are also worth trying since they are made fresh.
