Like other people in the review section have mentioned, the name of the restaurant is different at the Grand Front's directory. The restaurant is named Kanta or Kaiten on the mall's directory, and it is on the seventh floor of Grand Front South.
We didn't order any of the raw sushi on offer as we had a flight to catch the next day, so we only ordered the cooked salmon sushi, natto and cucumber sushi. We also ordered tamago, chawamushi and fried chicken with wedges as sides.
As some have mentioned, it was odd that no sushi was served on the conveyer belt. The only thing going around was the wasabi and sweet soy sauce.
The food was fresh and well seasoned. Sushi was fresh. Chawamushi was well done and not tasteless. Tamago was fluffy. Chicken was well cooked - crispy outside and tender inside, although it took a long time for them to be served. Tea was nice to drink.
Maybe JPY2200 is expensive for some Japanese but there's an English menu and the meals were acceptable and we left feeling satisfied...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. The name displays different in the Grand Front directory, we came back and forth twice to find it. While not many customers as we came in early, the rotating belt has less than 5 items .
The menu offers very limited selection, with 30% items sold out.
The sushi has paper thin cut, and huge rice underneath.
We ate total 8 plates ( half of them are double orders)and really run out of items to order . The sushi quality is just ok. Some grilled items are lukewarm. The price is on the high end giving the food we received.
We had very satisfying experience with rotating belt sushi at Kyoto. This is totally opposite experience.
Why such high ratings!? Very surprising on the huge disparity between the high ratings and the actual...
Read moreExcellent place in Umeda to try conveyor belt sushi. They open until late (11pm) and is situated in a shopping mall that is easily accessible. They have a wide variety of sushi for you to choose and some popular parts can run out! They also offer a 3-piece dish which consists of three different sushi, particularly suitable for single eater trying to taste as many different cuts/fishes/shrimps as possible! Their crunchy roll is really nice too which is a deep fried shrimp roll! Their fatty tuna and grilled salmon is exceptional as well. All sushi is prepared in front of you freshly if you order with the ipad in front of you. This place is slightly more expensive then other conveyor belt but the quality will explain the price difference. Worth it and will visit again...
