itadakitai(Seafood Rice Bowl & Japanese Food restaurant) LUCUA — Restaurant in Osaka

We came here after walking around the food hall area on L10. There was no line outside the restaurant, so we decided to try it out. We still had to wait for 10 minutes, but momentarily, we were given a table beside the window.

The atmosphere there was nice, we had a great view of the Osaka Umeda area - and looking at the menu, everything seemed promising. We ordered the seafood bowl, one with uni and the other didn't have it. The food came, and it looks appetizing, but that's where it ends, the bowl was rather bland, and the uni was not nice, rather briny.

I also ordered a glass of sparkling wine, and they gave me a glass with blue sparkling wine, which was interesting. Generally the food was a let down, but you are paying for the view. The service crew there were friendly...

We ordered a sushi rice bowl, hot udon, and fish and chips, and each dish had its own distinct appeal.

The sushi rice bowl was a standout, generously topped with slices of fresh fish and a scoop of sea urchin. A thoughtful touch was the accompanying menu that guided us on how to further enhance the flavors of the dish, providing a unique and interactive dining experience.

The hot udon was palatable and suited well for my kid's taste, offering a comforting and satisfying option.

The fish and chips impressed us with its good batter and freshly fried fish. The fish was chunky, fresh, and not overly oily, which pleased both adults...

We ordered the restaurant’s signature Itadakitai Specialty. The presentation was impressive, but the flavor didn’t quite live up to expectations. The avocado, in particular, wasn’t very fresh. After negotiating with the waiter, they replaced it, which was appreciated, though the taste still wasn’t entirely satisfying. On the bright side, the service and ambiance were both very good. Overall, I’d rate the experience slightly...
