The surreal shock I felt walking into a wall of whiskey, a calm background soundtrack of Celtic folk music - truly serene and not in any way a gimmick - and a gorgeous dark wooden bar was brief before a genuine sense of comfort. I had underestimated this as just a cocktail bar near my hotel from the photos of what looked like excellent old fashioneds. Instead, this is a whiskey bar (which incidentally serves an exceptional, meticulously poured pint of Guinness) that celebrates Japanese whiskeys that neighbour a broad range of Scottish whiskey on the packed shelves meaning there's an option for all curious patrons and with lovely staff to assist if need be.

Me & my partner got 1 pint & 1 Half pint of Guinness and we were charged x2 table fees even though the pub was empty and also charged a 10% fee on top of the expensive draft. We just came up the road to “Two Sam’s Up”and got x2 Pints of Guinness for 700 each - no table charge. Don’t waste your time with Public Bar The Court

Found this hidden gem when we just arrived to Osaka and marked it, and we’re so happy we did so. This charming place has an amazing variety of Japanese whiskey and a cordial, welcoming and knowledgeable bartender.
