If you enjoy modern cuisine with a japanese twist then maybe you could give this place a taste. Watching too many episodes of “Chef’s Table” series on Netflix you begin your own search of under the radar restaurants. At RiVi the lunch course is ¥5,000 per person and appropriately priced as well as sufficient number of plates. Prior to every dish the server places a pictogram of three key ingredients and then the dish is presented. I think the Loach Flan with duck consommé was conceptually strong. It was served in a glass cup that was on top of a bed a rice grains. After that meal I kept wondering when that raw grain of rice would come back. It didn’t. Instead the dish followed were seared bonito with yuzu and natto, lobster with beets, some warm bread, pork with fig and miso along with ginkgo nuts, and peachy dessert. In summary, the food here is a form of art. People may have different definitions of art, but for me, it’s when a something is created with so much thought. It is obviously the case here. Each course was prepared based on skills honed by years of experience and knowledge.
As for the taste, it suits my palate as I love flavorful dishes.
