Uni Specialty Restaurant Yoichiya - Sapporo Susukino Branch — Restaurant in Sapporo

I don’t normally like uni, but this place made me fall in love with it. While it is an uni specialty shop, everything else is amazing, as well - sweet with no fishiness is how my wife and I described everything we put in our salivating mouths.

We got:

Hamanaka Uni + 5 types of Bluefin Tuna Bowl (Only uni farm in Hokkaido, premium uni)

3 Types of Crab Bowl

Giant Scallop (actually giant)

Sweet Shrimp

The Hamanaka uni was SO sweet and had zero fishiness. This will describe everything else, as well, but the creaminess of the uni brings it to a level above every other amazing piece of fish we had. On top of that, the ENTIRE bed of rice was covered in it. It had to be an entire 150g or so of it.

The crab bowl came with an enormous king crab leg that you only see in mukbangs. It all came with snow crab and some other deshelled crab.

The giant scallop’s meat was larger than the size of a Gatorade bottle cap.

The sweet shrimp was also enormous and SO sweet.

It wasn’t the cheapest experience, but it was worth every penny. I would definitely recommend an uni dish first if you can splurge for it, but even the individual pieces that we ordered were well worth it. I’d say a blue fin tuna bowl is best if you prefer fish! Overall unreal experience, highly, highly recommend this place. They also have another branch about a 15 minute walk away if you can’t make this branch’s closing...

Found this place near our hotel and decided to give it a try :) Seems like a newer place in this area because there isn't a lot of reviews, so we're gonna help write one!! We made a reservation the night before just in case, and went there first thing in the morning; it's a little hidden on the 1st floor (i.e. the ground floor) of the building so it took us a bit to find. The staff came out to lead us in, and it was a very cool looking little restaurant inside. Not a lot of seats but the atmosphere is quite sophisticated.

My husband ordered the 5 types of Uni don, he was very very happy with it, best he ever had. I had the grilled fish set because I can't eat Sashimi, but I enjoyed it, especially the crab miso soup, it was really really good I even asked for another one :) The staff are all very sweet and welcoming, always had a smile on their faces. We chatted briefly at the end of the meal and she walked us out and sent us off. We really appreciate the warmth!! Definitely...

Highly recommended for people that enjoy the taste of sea urchin.

Ordered the five great sea urchin tasting bowl, and it is well worth the price. The flavour profile is subtly different for each of them, and they are all a mix of creamy and sweet. Hard to describe in just words, so you should come to find out yourself.

The rice and crab miso soup are great as well, the miso is flavourful, and you can get free refills for them as you want. Service is great as well.
