175 DENO Tantanmen GINZa — Restaurant in Tokyo

Came here at around 12:30 on a Friday afternoon - originally was going to the tantan men shop nearby but the line was huge so picked here with no wait. Inside was not so busy but looked it as it's very Cosy aka small. By 1245 the place was full. Ordered the white goma no soup, medium size, 1 numb and 1 spice and light soup based on the staffs recommendation for what the shop is known for - cost was 900 yen. Firstly I could have done the 2 numb and 2 spice as it was very light - ended up added a few heaps of the spicy oil they had at the tables. The medium size was perfect for me, going smaller I would have been hungry. The noodles were quite thick/ heavy and stuck together so slightly hard to pick up small amounts without spilling. They pay Alot of attention to the quality of the sansho and it was great quality with amazing flower like smell. Definitely...

Nice tantanmen with POWERFUL paralyzing effect. You can choose paralyzing level(amount of Sichuan pepper!!), spiciness level(they have special spices powder for spiciness) and thickness of soup(clear or deep) if you choose Soup tantanmen. I had Black sesame soup tantanmen and it was powerful even if I chose paralyzing level 2 and spicy level 1! I’ve never felt this numbness all over my mouth before!! Wish I ordered the mildest one… Except the numbness, I could feel everything is very well made with lots of efforts. noodle was chewy and moisture they use flour from Hokkaido. Broth was nutty with plenty of sesame paste and cashews and dried shrimp on topping! I would love to visit them again and try the mildest one...

Great place for some noodles. spiciness is selectable as well as an option for low carb noodles (at a cost) ordered normal spicy with extra meat and low carb. also had a cheese topping to see what it was like and two portions of siu loong pau. latter was nothing special but acceptable.

the minus point of this place is as well as having to queue for ages, its not catered to well for foreigners. they use one of the ticket vending machine system but only one so if you're japanese reading isn't great you may be somewhat rushed into ordering. luckily you can amend your order verbally to the staff later on if you wish to amend or add
