Amazingly tender Aged Wagyu beef from each body part. Cuts are prime and generous, melt in your mouth full flavor and texture. Cooked over traditional smoldering charcoal. This quality of beef is hard to find in the US, only at high end Japanese steakhouses which are also hard to find. And the price is unheard of. In SoCal, you’ll pay twice as much per person for one prime ribeye steak and a beer (plus tip). Owner stopped by the table to recommend unseasoned and seasoned meat-to-sauce preparation/combinations. Simple and complimentary, as it should be. Twenty-years in the Japanese BBQ cuisine, he’s perfected the craft. Very hospitable and personal touch with customers. Great to see that in Japan. Akabekoya will be a regular stop in Tokyo for us!

I had the pleasure of dining at Akabekoya, and it was an unforgettable experience. The quality of the meat was top-notch, with each cut tender and bursting with flavor. The selection was impressive, catering to both classic and adventurous tastes. The grilling experience added a fun, interactive element to the meal, and the staff was attentive and knowledgeable, ensuring everything was cooked to perfection. The ambiance was warm and inviting, making it perfect for a casual dinner or a special occasion. The attention to detail in both the food and the service truly sets Akabekoya apart. If you’re a fan of yakiniku or simply looking to try something new, I highly recommend Akabekoya. I’ll definitely be back!

We found this restaurant by chance when we were looking for a yakiniku place near Roppongi. We booked a table just an hour before we went and were able to sit together comfortably even though the restaurant isn't very big. They only take reservations in Japanese, but the staff could speak a little English when we ordered. There were six of us, and we ordered the meat course. We were really impressed by the different types of meat they offered and the variety of food and drinks on the menu. Before we started eating, the staff explained which sauces to pair with each type of meat so we could enjoy the flavors more. The prices are a bit high, but I'd recommend it if you want to try a new yakiniku place.

We happened to stumble on this place while walking around Roppongi right off a busy street… and it did NOT disappoint. The atmosphere was great, the interior was cozy, and both the staff and owner were so kind and inviting. Despite our little-to-no Japanese, our waitress was incredibly accommodating and even cooked our food to perfection for us. Finally, on top of being delicious, you just couldn’t beat all the wagyu we ate for the price. 11/10 - HIGHLY RECOMMEND to locals and tourists alike.

Everything is just perfect ! Owner is very friendly , staffs are lovely . I can’t speak Japanese , owner can’t speak English . But it totally fine , we managed to communicate with body language and translation app ! I was dinning alone , they recommended a platter with 5 parts beef . If you are not sure which to order , just follow their recommendation , it won’t go wrong . And the platter is just in perfect portion . The beef is sooooooo tasty . Also order plum wine which is really good to.

We arrived without a reservation and almost got turned away at the door. As we tried to find an alternative dinner plan, they were nice enough to welcome us in and seat us for dinner. It was a delicious experience, maybe the best meal we have had in Japan so far. A man who I think was, the owner came out and spoke to us about the meat. The staff helped explain how to use sauce on the different cuts of meat. It was definitely top of our experiences in Japan overall.
