With their price, 3 out of 9 meat I tried are about average, 2 are below average, and 4 are above average.
The fillet and shatoburian are very good. The shinshin has too much tendon and hard to bite. The misuji does not taste as good as it supposed to be. The toro Tongue, tougarashi, and kamenoko are just ok for the price. I would give a 4.5 start for the overall food quality.
For their service, it is theost terrible service I had in a decent restaurant. I do speak Japanese but only about 50~60%. When I made order, the waiter should realized I am not native Japanese speaker, but when I didn't understand and ask to explain one more time on how to BBQ one of the meat, the waiter seems impatient and said I already told you before repeated the correct process. This is totally not acceptable especially for a decent restaurant. After I realised the issue, the next time I didn't understand the instruction, I asked to explain in English. Then the waiter said he doesn't speak English and provide the instruction in Japanese again and look at me seems it's something I should know. Just before I ask to explain in English, the same waiter were talking English to the other table's customer who speaks Chinese and provided instruction in English. I felt not being treated equally.
Their interior is not bad. Good relax music, and fair privacy seat.
Overall, I will only suggest this restaurant to a friend if a friend doesn't care about the service. Need to watch out not to speak Japanese in the place if you are not native...
Read moreI visited the cozy restaurant of Nikuine in 17th of May. Food was amazing and restaurant was perfect for tourists to visit and enjoy high quality foods without having fine dining clothing. My party had 4x Miyabi menus, which was recommended food menu. Food was 4.5 stars, excellent for us, all was tasty and at end we were nicely filled. Not too much food and not too little food. The half star miss in food was the grill. The table grill was not hot enough to give charring or grill meats to leave middle medium. But we have 2.5 hours time and we almost used whole time with the foods.
Service was almost perfect, 1 star miss was from the promise that i got in emails. I requested for explanation on foods and customer service promised that, but in table the waitress didn't do proper explanation and we had to ask it separately. Some of service staff was at top tier. All were overall very friendly and clearly wanted us to enjoy the experience.
Atmosphere is 4.5/5, restaurant was very casual styled and bit tight for moving around and sounds were bit echoing around. Overall the place still had that high quality style of a high class restaurant.
