This is the best restaurant, because of how accommodating they were for us. First, I anticipated small portion sizes, because typically Japanese portion sizes are small compared to America. But, no, they were rather larger portion sizes (good cost performance), too big in fact for the size of the dishware. Not complaining! But now I had lots of food remaining and really didn't want it to go to waste, especially since it was so tasty. I know how Japan restaurants frown upon to-go food, but I had to ask. They were so nice about it, and ended up figuring out that they can use one of the boxes from their baked goods shop. They even gave me a plastic bag to carry the box, free of charge. I can tell that they are very used to dealing with foreigners. But there's more! Walking in to the restaurant, we had noticed the sit-down smoking section in front. We had finished our wonderful meal (excellent pate) and thought of having a coffee and cigar outside. We asked and they understood us immediately, and nicely obliged.
The ambiance is much like France and you can even pay at your table! And the waiters are really communicating with each other well. Very, super impressed all around! This was my second time visiting this location and will not be my last, especially now that we know cigar smoke is accepted, which can be hard to...
Read moreGreat French style bistro cafe in Ginza. We've been meaning to stop by here for years but always the place was too busy or we had plans elsewhere. Finally decided to come here for brunch and coffee and it was worth the wait. There was a small line (place got busier at lunch so expect a longer wait time during peak to times) but we got lucky and had a nice seat that gave us a view outside.
Is this the best bistro in town? No, but a combination of a few things took us back to the last time we visited Paris and absolutely loved sitting at these bistros and taking in the surroundings. Food, coffee and dessert are decent, albeit a little pricey, staff were busy but did their best to be attentive.
It was a buzzing cafe with people walking by constantly. If you aren't in a rush and want to spend a bit of time taking in the surroundings on a nice day, this is a good...
Read moreI didn't expect a fancy restaurant like this would have such a bad quality of food. We ordered 2 sets of steaks which is recommended and asked for a medium rare & medium cooked. It came pretty quick, not hot enough & the meat wasn't tender at all. Nothing else was given, i had to take salt, pepper & mustard by myself in the service area, the complimentary bread was cold & tough. We asked for tomato sauce but it came very late , just before we pay the bill. The service wasn't good either, they need more staff, they didn't even smile and wqs always in a rush. I think even Ikinari steak is much much better than this. I don't usually give bad review but this one is just...
