Trust my Review Is on the capsules -3rd floor.
This a well run capsule hotel business no scams no negatives.
Best price in Tokyo !
Regarding “Chinese tourists” not all are terrible . I had to tell one kindly please lower the volume. She apologized & lowered her voice however, I’m lucky I’m a woman 🧍♀️.
Upon entering the building you smell a wonderful aroma and fresh clean smell.
When checking in you must remove your sneakers and grab a locker with a key and insert them there. They will provide disposable slippers, toiletries.
Phenomenal location, close to Metro Ginza line, walking distance to a lot of hot tourist spots and near the river, near so many restaurants.I prefer to use the corner laundromat.
-great capsule beds ( a bit firm ! make sure you grab a complimentary pillow to help) with usb and AC outlet , Fan , light ,nightlight and alarm!
-storage space is limited but they have deluxe capsules where you can store the luggage in .
-you get a locker large enough on the same floor as your bed to store a carryon and backpack if necessary.
Clean facilities: Shower and bathroom Facilities are on the same floor. Are kept clean and always stocked. Hair dryers, great smelling shampoo , conditioner and body wash available. They give you a new towel everyday if requested before 10 pm.
However, keep in mind there are guests that are so messy and dirty . Inconsiderate of others . You can’t control that. However staff do place signs up to guide guests on behaviors but many don’t speak English!
No speaking in the capsule room or loud video watching . Usually the capsule rooms are quiet and many that stay here are Asian tourists. I like that most are quiet and respectful in comparison to other ethnicities .
You can speak loudly on the third floor . Third floor lounge bathroom smells deadly and the lounge trash area should be cleaned 4X a day to keep up with the overflow. Many eat here instead of out & hangout for many hours. Please Vacuum, wiped and trash bins should be sanitized w/Clorox. ( nothing is perfect right?-this place is pretty close to it though!) many tables and comfy couches open 24/7 and WiFi is great for video calling and work!
You can get your bed clean for 500 yen or if you stay there long enough you will get a cleaning weekly. You must schedule it .
Cleaning is done 10 am-2 pm but I noticed the showers and beds are usually cleaned by 12 pm .
This place is usually fully booked far in advance so I suggest you book on Agoda and call the to figure something out if staying for more than a few days.
The staff are all wonderful!! I need to show some recognition to the following that have been crucial to my pleasant month long stay!
-Marina -amazing manager! Professional, kind, English speaking.
-Marinas younger sister - does exceptional well at customer service and cleaning the capsules .
-Domingo - always cheerful and is a hardworking helpful gentleman
-Ayumi- her laugh and smile brightens up anyone’s day the most cheerful Japanese I’ve ever encountered! 🤩🙏🏼She was very helpful and pleasant .
-Ryo- despite not knowing much English he has shown respect and kindness and willingness to help guests with their needs . Google translate helped a lot😌
-another guy that cleans I forgot his/her name but he has medium long hair and is always cleaning well and making sure guests are happy.
I highly recommend this capsule ! I want to recommend this place to those that are respectful to Japanese culture & rules. AND to those that ARE CLEAN and like clean spaces! To keep this hostel great I must say this isn’t a party hostel ( so no hearing of sex and weird stuff going on) Despite the surprisingly American Hip hop music they play all day. Which I love.! Haha
Elevators are separated by sex and the key card will only work for your floor and lounge . Which gives me peace of mind!
Anyway I love this place and I’m off to a new neighborhood. This was such a wonderful stay and I’m forever grateful for my Asakusa experience!
Xoxo much love to the staff you guys rock !

I recently had the opportunity to stay at Lightning Hotel in Asakusa from 14 March to 19 March, and I would like to share my experience. As a frequent capsule hotel guest, I found several aspects of the hotel worth mentioning.
Firstly, the location of the hotel is undeniably excellent, being situated right next to Kaminarimon. This proximity to such a prominent landmark made exploring the area incredibly convenient and enjoyable.
Regarding customer service, I noticed a few different staff members at the reception during my stay. However, one particular young male staff member left a lasting impression on me. On the night of 17 March, he kindly provided me with a new towel. His niceness, patience, helpfulness, and attention to detail were exceptional. I observed him diligently introducing the facilities to newcomers, taking the time to explain every detail, including how to obtain fresh towels, toothbrushes, and other amenities. Interestingly, this information was not shared with me during check-in by the staff member who assisted me. I truly appreciated the exemplary service provided by this staff member.
Moving on to the room environment, I had booked the basic capsule room. It was neither too large nor too small, striking a comfortable balance and ensuring a pleasant stay. The cleanliness of the room met my expectations and I had no complaints in this regard.
However, I would like to bring to the hotel's attention a common issue in capsule hotels. Since each floor is shared, it is possible for some guests to become intoxicated and potentially cause disturbances to others. This is an unfortunate drawback that the hotel should address, as it can impact the overall experience for guests seeking a peaceful and comfortable stay.
Overall, my stay at Lightning Hotel was enjoyable, largely due to its unbeatable location and the exceptional customer service provided by the attentive staff, especially the young male staff member who went above and beyond to ensure a pleasant stay. I would recommend this hotel to travelers seeking a convenient and comfortable accommodation option in...
Read moreSCAM ALERT!!!!! Save yourself the headache and your money. Do not trust the reviews this is a SCAM!
I booked the hotel with Agoda and in all my correspondence with Agoda there was no mention of a check-in deadline, not on the confirmation email or my bookings page where I was told I would find the hotel policies. On the hotels Google page there was none either. No website or contact details were listed either, so you can not contact the hotel.
When I got to the hotel, I was denied entry on the basis that it was past check-in. I begged but was strickly told it was company policy and that I had to apply for a refund with Agoda. I was assured many times that I would get my refund.
In the short time I was at the hotel at least 6 other people came in and we're rejected too and were told to apply for a refund on Agoda. But now Agoda is telling me the hotel refuses to approve the refund.
This is clearly a scam! They deliberately withheld information and then took my money. If they did it to at least 7 people in one night, who knows how many people they scam in a month or a year!
Save yourself the trouble and money and book...
