I always like to support small muslim businesses but this one is ridiculous. 99000yen for a prayer matt? That is almost the price of my plane ticket to japan!! Is the prayer mat coming with me to jannah? Now the hijab and kimono. I was mainly coming to this store for them. Don’t get me wrong they are beautiful but not for 22000yen for a hijab and 82000yen for a abaya/kimono. I understand everything is made with quality material and is unique, but there is a limit. As for the snacks, you can find the same selection in the DON QUIJOTE near the store in the special halal section for cheaper
UPDATE after the owner’s response: I was alone in the store with my husband. There was 2 employees and both didn’t say anything to us, not even a salam. We saw that some products could be sampled to try but we didn’t get offered any. They didn’t even look at us or anything. One was putting some products on the shelf and the other was sitting down at the cash. It’s like we were ghosts. I tried looking at them and smile but they didn’t even move. When leaving I said "bye, thank you" and got no response. Would’ve loved to have more explication about the hijab, kimono and prayer mat and try some snacks. If I had a good service, I would’ve bought my snacks from Halal-Ya instead of Don Quijote

Read moreI 100% recommend any muslim and non-muslim to visit this store. There are so many amazing snacks and they even allow you taste test some of the products.
The place was not difficult to find as I watched the walkthrough video on their instagram account.
The store owner is very kind and friendly. He made the shopping experience very enjoyable and we had a lovely chat. I am extremely grateful to have found an halal snack store as we don’t have many asian snacks that are halal in South Africa.
I brought quite a number of items for my family and friends. My mother thoroughly enjoyed the nuts especially the Soy sauce cashew nuts.
My family and friends are truly appreciative for the snacks as they were excited to try it immediately after I gave it to them.
Thank you for making the experience amazing and for being welcoming to the muslim...

Even though I’ve been living in Japan for the past year, I haven’t mastered kanji and I don’t feel confident checking on my own whether the souvenirs I want to buy are halal or not. But at Halal-YA, everything there is safe and I can shop with peace of mind.
The signature Tokyo candies are so cute! The assorted flavored nuts are also very delicious. My favorite is the chocolate-covered almonds. One bag can be finished in one sitting, haha!
Oh! They can also ship our purchases to your home or to a hotel, so you can continue shopping and exploring without carrying too many items.
It seems they also have an online store; I’ll try it next year before going back for good to Indonesia.
Thank you! Wishing you success and...
