Had my third try with this place, and it's probably gonna be the last...
The thing is you are not paying for your coffee here - you are paying for drinking your coffee in Omotesando.
For 7usd you get a drink that's literally half the size of what you get at other places for 4usd. And the last time when I got their famous macha latte, I had to throw away the last 1/3 of the pity drink as there were chunks of undissolved macha powders!
If you ask the people who have had the chance to explore Tokyo for a longer time, I think most would tell you that the last thing you wanna do is hitting the beloved spots. There are so many secret gems hidden off the beaten path in this vast city especially when it comes to artisan coffee! If you are enchanted by the traditional decor, you can also find some coffee shop ran by Japanese grandpa in his actual house! The big names like this one do it for the profit, no name ones do it to entertain themselves through entertaining you!
If you are reading this and really on for something fine and unique, forget the stars and start wandering your neighborhood. I'm sure some places will eventually pop up and surprise you with unparalleled coffee...

While the interior still looks great, the expansion has meant that it has lost a lot of its former charm and sense of cosiness. When I visited on a weekday morning by myself the place was empty, causing the open spaces to feel cold and exposed. The new layout is much better suited to larger groups.
As someone who always visits during my trips to Tokyo, I previously felt the simple menu and space was unpretentious despite the Maison Kitsune association. Having now lost much of this minimalist appeal it is harder to distinguish it from the other cafe choices in the area. It now feels like any other cafe, albeit with the brand name attached.
The cafe is not laptop friendly for those looking for a quiet place to get some work done. 'No laptop' signs are placed on all the tables. Credit card and...
Read moreMy first time giving a review on google. This is the WORST CAFE I have been visited in Japan. It ruined my dayyy, as I came early morning with a bad weather as it was on rainy day.
Then served by the staffs' bad attitude, especially the barista where he told me to order one drink per person AFTER I HAVE PAID. Should tell me earlier as my husband doesnt drink coffee, then I will cancel my order and go to other cafe which not only has a great hospitality but also better coffee skills than here. The coffee was not that special. If it was special, I would order another type of coffee again without telling me to order more!!!
Because of this, I left the cafe after I took only a little sip of the coffee, to feel how good is your coffee. But really nothing special and will never come back again. Thanks for ruining my day that...
