I first visited this shop in 2014. I was drawn in by the sign "sorry our 2 dogs and very chicken even tho they barking sometimes" and the reggae music playing. The atmosphere is very chill. Old wooden driftwood bar, friendly English speaking staff. A pin map for visitors from around the world. And from around the world they come. I met English, French, Russian, Italian, Irish basically all over Europe, Asia, and the States and more. It's also a favorite spot for locals from the Asakusa neighborhood, the friendliest neighborhood in Tokyo. So, lots of great Japanese are hanging out there too. It's always a colorful cast of characters. The food is good too. Only good Mexican food I've had in Tokyo. Pizza good as well. I've made 3 trips back to Tokyo since the first and I always stop in. Also the mama-san is a wealth of knowledge about Japanese culture. She's great advisor about other cool spots in Tokyo and I've even known her to walk customers to their train stations. Read moreThis place is SO MUCH fun. Me and my girl friend went here for a late afternoon drink, and were truly entertained by the athmosphere: chocablock full of tiny decorations and souvenirs (try playing drunk "I spy..."). The owner and staff are incredibly welcoming and will chat you up with their travel and life stories if you let them (and I do recommend you let them, they are absolutely crack up). They have a good, comprehensive list of drinks, but you can also ask for your own creation to be mixed up and they wil do it no problem. We ended up having shots of absinthe before heading off to dinner in the nearby hoppy street, and it made for an utterly perfect evening. Pro tip: keep an eye out for the owner's dog chilling around the place. He is a reaaally cute and quiet dog who loves getting...
Read moreRelaxed bar that was an oasis to go visit late on our last night in Japan. Everything about it was chill. The owner talked us up a little and he spoke great English. We had a good meal and were able to order from an English menu they provided. The avocado tacos were a nice piece of home, and I got to try some interesting herbal tea.
Note - if you're a foreigner, bring some foreign cash with you! The owner may ask you to sign a bill for him to put up on the wall behind the bar. We unfortunately didn't have any, but we decided to leave this review instead! Hope everyone there...
