Egoland Cafe Akihabara — Restaurant in Tokyo

I feel very lucky to have discovered Egoland. As it was located conveniently close to my hostel, it quickly became my go-to place for breakfast and going over my daily planning in a peaceful, yet vibrant environment, as they thankfully provided wifi. Their soft serve is rightfully iconic among the patrons, but I personally particularly liked their tortilla and gateau au chocolat. I'm also always happy to discover a japanese place where the coffee tastes like actual coffee, hence why the long black and espresso were my usual orders. The main draw, however, is the personell, who cheerfully greet passersby as you are enjoying your drink with lively jazz playing in the background, know how to strike up conversation easily (in english as well, if needed) and make you feel at ease the entire time. Shout out to the lovely lady whom I met the most often and explained to me the meaning of "Egoland": a place where different "egos" can merge and have a good time, aka, where diversity is welcomed but doesn't stand it in the way of good company. Visited Egoland Cafe Akihabara and was pleasantly surprised by the quality of their coffee—it was rich, smooth, and expertly prepared. The milk foam was silky and blended beautifully with the espresso, making for a comforting cup. The ambiance of the cafe was cozy and inviting, perfect for relaxing or catching up with a friend. However, the selection of pastries was a bit limited, which was a slight disappointment for someone who enjoys pairing sweets with coffee. Very friendly and personable staff! The customer sevice is outstanding. I had the soft serve ice cream and it was like milk sorbet, very light, milky, and delicious. I noticed a sign that said that Egoland's ice cream is made of grass-fed (cow) milk. I understand why it is so highly acclaimed. Like stated by others, the coffee is quite weak. I want to try what other reviewers suggested and request a stronger coffee next time. I had the regular single espresso, and it tasted like I was drinking water.
