Was here for a couple of days in November last year. The location is fantastic, as it's in walking distance of Akihabara station and there are plenty of stores around if you need anything.
When you enter, you are greeted politely and you can check-in. It's an easy proces. You get some checks to see if you are the one that booked the room and after validation, you get your information. It was a paper with codes to the elevator and the room I would stay at. In the room, I found my luggage (which I send over from Hiroshima a couple of days beforehand) neatly set in the corner, with everything I needed to know in a nice bundle of documents, which was waiting for me on the table.
The room was very clean, spacious and it had all the commodities you would desire: a kitchen with appliances, more than enough cutlery for a family and cups, plates and other dishes; a bathroom that also had your own washingmachine (you could take detergent for free at the lobby), hairdryer, towels and more; a nice toilet; a big bed to sleep on, which was very nice and comfortable; a table that was big enough to have breakfast, lunch and dinner with a family of about 4-6 people, which also had the option to lower a bed, to add a sleeping place for another person; a TV which you can watch from the bed, but also the table, very conviniently placed; a nice rack to hang up your clothes and it even had a vacuum cleaner, in case you dropped something and had to clean it up.
It was easy to walk in and out off, with staff that would greet you everytime when they were at the front desk. Definitely a great experience. Checking out was also very swiftly: you go downstairs, hand in your paper with the codes to the elevator and room and you are free to go.
The only advise I would give them, is to change the paper with codes for the elevator and room into something like a keycard or something similar ;) But that's the only thing, because otherwise, everything was great there. Would highly recommend.
PS: Don't mind the "mess" on the table, as I just arrived when I took the photo and didn't put it aside yet. Also, when I left to go back to the Netherlands, I forgot a few items, one includes a bottle of whiskey that had 1/4 left in it. I hope the staff found it and enjoyed it on...
Read moreNice apartment stay near Akihabara. Small but functional room - tight squeeze for 2 adults and 2 teens, but the bunk beds make it doable. Really appreciated the in-room laundry and kitchenette. Its an apartment - not a hotel - so don't expect common use areas, room service, concierge, etc. There is a supermarket (similar to USA's Whole Foods) nearby, which was great for getting some small things like fruit for breakfast. The place is farther from Akihabara and Asakusabashi stations than we thought - we didn't think a 10-15 minute walk would seem like much, but after 5 days of using the trains to sightsee when you hop off the train and just want to be in the room - it was sure a bear. The 100 degree weather had something to do with that so you might have a different view when its a balmy 80 degrees. And speaking of 100 degrees, the in room AC is woefully inadequate - if you like sleeping in a cold room, this isn't your spot. The hallway AC unit on our floor wasn't working, but once the staff got it fixed, it worked much better than our in-room AC, so we left the door open for a bit to even things out, which helped. To say the beds are firm is a total understatement. The bunk beds were more comfortable than the main beds. The fee to extend checkout by an hour was astronomical (10k yen vs. 1000yen at other places we stayed), so we opted for the free luggage storage after checkout. The staff is super friendly and willing to help and the language barrier was easy to cross with google translate. If you're looking for a base to sightsee from, Monday Apartments is fantastic, but pick one closer to a train station. If you want quiet neighborhood vibe, this is...
Read moreMy family and I stayed at this hotel for a week during our trip to Tokyo and loved it. The hotel is close to both Akihabara and Asakusabashi station connecting you to multiple train lines to travel throughout the city. The area is rather quiet as it is mainly residential but the core area of Electric Town is only about a 15 minute walk away.
We especially liked that the toilet and washroom were in separate areas - more North American hotels should adopt this! There was ample space for all 4 people in our family and the under bed storage is great for luggage. The hotel also supplied some nice amenities like toothbrush, cotton pads, q tips so we didn’t have to pack them. The in room laundry was super convenient and the laundry detergent is supplied. We predominantly ate out but the kitchen is well stocked in case you want to do some cooking.
Staff are also so nice and friendly though the counter is not maned 24 hours a day so we did run into a situation where we needed something but wasn’t able to get help right away.
Overall a wonderful stay and we would highly recommend this place for anyone...
