Went with friends from work who are non-Indian.
Pros- Central location near Ginza station. Everything we ate was delicious, garlic naan, mountain mutton curry, butter chicken were authentic. Good selection of alcohol, we tried a decent Indian red wine.
Cons- Really weird rule that you will not be seated until all the guests arrive. It was a spring day so we didn’t mind but we had 4/5 of the original reservation and the waiter said no entry, then we had 5/5 but we asked that we add one more person and they said ok then wait till the 6th person comes. I was born in Sri Lanka and have eaten Indian food in at-least 4 continents and I have never been to such an annoying restaurant in my life. I’ve had five star in india and the zero stars on the road side but this is where some kind of Japanese rigidity infected the fluidity of the subcontinent hospitality.
I have been a patron of Dakshin, dhaba and lately Bombay sizzlers in the same area and I frequent these frequently for the food and hospitality. The food is indifferent between these authentic Indian staffed kitchens contrary to the 1000 “Indian restaurants” found in Tokyo. It will take some massive convincing by friends for me to go to this one again, unless I go with only my household in which case I don’t have to time it to perfection like I am representing india in synchronized water ballet at the next olympics.
Eating alone, couples ok but avoid this place like the plague if you are going...
Read moreI had given a very good review last time when I visited but sorry to say day by day the restaurant is degrading. The food quality somehow is too bad plus the spinach was uncooked and raw as the food arrived within 5mins of ordering. We suffered stomach ache after having the Spinach based gravy which us horrible. What I hated even worse is we were forced to order more than needed like 4 dishes for 4 people by the Japanese lady owner when we didn't need. Because we resisted to forcefully order 5th dish somehow all the dishes came with minute portion size .
Really hated the service here which was not expected from a Indian restaurant run by...
Read moreNice cozy food place. They offer variety of options in snacks, main course, drinks and desserts.
We tried a few veg options - Samosa - Must try. It was really good especially the sauces/chutneys served with it were delicious. Cheese kulcha - it was different from indian kulcha felt more like a pizza stuffed with cheese and garlic. Taste was good but it wasn’t like kulcha Grilled paneer and veggies - Can try this out in starters for sure Spinach and paneer masala - little disappointing here, it was not like indian palak paneer at all. Taste was also okayish. Garlic naan - what can go wrong with garlic naan ever,...
