Dining at Kyoto Hyoki was a truly memorable experience. The ambiance is serene and intimate, with a traditional setup that requires guests to remove their shoes. We were fortunate to be served by Mana, who was genuinely one of the sweetest and most attentive servers we’ve encountered. Her warmth elevated our entire evening. The snow crab was exceptional — delicately sweet with just the right firmness. Every bite was a testament to the kitchen’s skill and ingredient quality. We ended our meal with the matcha pudding and kyobancha tea which is the perfect combination to an exquisite end to a beautiful meal.

I would come back again next time. Ambience and service level is top notch. It was a bit noisy at times with party music in the background, but it could also be because I came here during new year eve weekend. Miss 清田 was extremely attentive and made sure my experience was enjoyable. This place only has private room dining and this was reflected in the price. Japanese sake choice and recommendation is excellent. If this is your first time being in Tokyo there are other places with better value for money but if you are looking for authentic Japanese fine dining experience, I would recommend here.

We had such a wonderful experience at Kyoto Hyoki! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and taken care of. Our server, Mana, was the absolute sweetest — so kind, attentive, and knowledgeable. The snow crab was a standout: perfectly firm with a natural sweetness that made every bite melt in our mouths. The matcha pudding — it was so delicious we didn’t get a picture or leave a single bite behind! One tip: be sure to wear clean socks, as you’ll be taking your shoes off before entering the dining area. It only adds to the authentic and cozy atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back!

Dining at Kyoto Hyoki was nothing short of an extraordinary experience that transported us to another world.

From the moment we stepped inside, we knew we were in for something special. Our attendant, Ishi-san, was exceptional. Attentive, knowledgeable, and so passionate about the shabu-shabu process. He took the time to explain every step of the cooking method, making the experience even more engaging.

The courses my husband and I chose were the perfect amount, offering a delightful balance of flavors and textures. The wagyu beef, tender pork, and fresh crab were truly top-notch, each ingredient more impressive than the last.

The vegetables were thoughtfully selected, pairing wonderfully with the proteins and elevating the entire meal.

The entire experience, from the warm welcome to the final course, was flawless. It’s truly one of the best birthday dinners I’ve ever had. As a beautiful and personal touch, they even took a photo of us, printed it, and gifted it to us at the end of the night.

Thank you, Hyoki, and especially Ishi-san, for the exceptional care and attention you gave us. We will definitely be back for more...

This shabu shabu restaurant offers a delicious vegan set menu with 6, 7, or 9 courses. While they usually recommend reserving vegan meals a day in advance, we weren’t aware and booked same-day—yet they still accommodated us with such warmth.

Our waiter, Toki, kindly apologized for the short wait and even brought us a complimentary snack, though we were perfectly happy relaxing in our lovely private tatami room. Both Toki and the other waitress who greeted us provided impeccable service, making the whole experience even more enjoyable.

The meal itself was fantastic, and we’d absolutely return. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a thoughtful, high-quality vegan shabu...
