Went here earlier this year around January if I recall correctly. One of the requirements for Professors Molaskys “Jazz” Class was to visit this kisaten close to Waseda Campus. Being the only female student in there surrounded by much older gentlemen, I felt intimidated and that I stood out like a sore thumb. However, the owner was so kind and attentive. We made small talk, and he was so sweet to ask me if I wanted to take a photo of the LP rather than writing it down every time he changed it. He even takes requests! One of the older gentleman would stand up every so often and ask the owner for an album request. It’s such a great atmosphere and I thought the detail of famous Jazz artist’s photos being edited with them wearing masks for their signs was such a great touch! Read moreI visited this place after lunch on a weekday. It had a very comfortable atmosphere.
It's a remarkably jazzy and beautiful space. The sound equipment is set up exceptionally well, allowing for great audio quality.
The owner and their spouse are incredibly friendly and treat guests with great etiquette. I also find the prices for coffee or tea very reasonable. If there's a jazz cafe like this near my home, I think I would visit every day.
