Super fun and tasty restaurant right in the middle of Akihabara. We came for lunch and were able to get a spot inside the restaurant with only a very minimal wait.
The restaurant is a 'standing Yakiniku', so you will not get a chair or anything. You just stand at a counter and cook meat on your own private grill. Standing was honestly not a problem at all and made the experience more memorable if nothing else.
The 'Gorgeous' Course came with 20 pieces of various A4 and A5 cuts of Wagyu for around 6,500 yen. We shared this between two people and after getting some side dishes of rice and beers to drink only came out to around 4,000 yen per person. For the quality of the meat you are getting, I think the prices are well worth it.
By the way, the flavour of the meat here is some of the best I have ever had. Yakiniku in Japan is an experience on a whole other level and I personally think it is the best way to experience the flavour of Wagyu.
Being located in Akihabara is also a plus if you are an anime fan, as you will likely want to spend some significant time shopping in the area anyway and will not have to go out of your way at all to come eat here. The next time I come to Akihabara I will come to this restaurant for certain as long as they are still open. Highly...
Read moreI came here as a group of 5 for some Wagyu before heading back home, and the group had to be split up due to the limited seating. We all pretty much ordered the same plate of "Wagyu" for 7000-9000¥. I also ordered mashed potatoes with mine, which I was looking forward to since you dont find that often in Japan. I was very dissapointed with my meal. The steak came out on a cast iron plate still sizzling, but the cuts were thick and came out rare. I left mine to cook a little more on the plate and as it cooked to a medium, it was tough and did not taste like Wagyu at all. Any steak can pass as tender wagyu if its raw, but only wagyu can be tender and melt in your mouth when its FULLY cooked. Thats why it's usually served thin. The small "dallop" of mashes potatoes they serve is pathetic. The restaurant is so small and cramped that the wait staff has to move behind you serve you and it gets kind of annoying. Once we left the restaurant and gathered back together as a group, we all agreed that after having several wagyu dishes on our trip, what this place serced us was definitely not real wagyu. My friend was charged much less than the wagyu price, while my boyfriend and I were charged a total of 17000¥. Overall a dissapointing experience for our last...
Read moreI have to confess, that they offer a free drink for this review. But this only increase to my incentives to write a review, it will not compromise my rating. After all the free drink was green tea, how much value can you add to a glass of green tea. This restaurant is a very interesting Japanese BBQ experience. First of all, they don't offer menu in other languages, but you can easily navigate around. Because I menu is right in front of you. You will pick your selection of beef or pork and by just pointing at them. Secondly, you will able to grill your own meat. There are a small grill in front of you, and you can add your own seasoning. Even if they offered the best quality of meat , you have to know how to grill it right. So, before you come here practice your BBQ skill, or watch YouTube and pretend you mastered it. The price of meat in the restaurant is certainly reasonable, after all you are getting selection of A5/A4 beef for under 2000 (the price is by slice) . So if you are short on cash but wanna try the best beef, and you are in Japan. I definitely recommend this place. P.S. It is a standing restaurant, and it is quite small. So have your...
