Title: A Mixed Experience
I recently dined at Kanteki, a place known for its beef dishes. While the quality of the beef was undeniably good, my overall experience left me with mixed feelings.
First and foremost, the beef served at Kanteki was of excellent quality. Each bite was tender, succulent, and bursting with flavor. It's evident that they take pride in sourcing top-notch beef. However, my disappointment arose when I realized that the portion size didn't quite match the price tag. The servings were on the smaller side, leaving me feeling unsatisfied.
Moreover, I couldn't help but notice that the restaurant didn't seem particularly welcoming to foreigners. The staff's demeanor and level of service were somewhat lacking in warmth, which made the dining experience less enjoyable. Friendliness and hospitality should be an integral part of any restaurant experience, regardless of the clientele.
Another drawback was the cost of their tea. It was surprisingly expensive, especially considering that it's a common accompaniment to meals. This felt like an unnecessary expense that added to the overall feeling of overpricing.
In summary, Kanteki does deliver on quality when it comes to their beef dishes, but the small portion sizes and lack of a welcoming atmosphere for foreigners make it hard to justify the price. Additionally, the high cost of basic items like tea further contributed to the sense of overpricing. so me and my 5 friends went in to restaurant we sat on table which is on second floor
and we ordered some kind of set menu and enjoy the food after time we wanted to order more meat because it was pretty good
So! we asked that can we more ordered meat
but he said that we can't order any more meat Because we do not have a enough time to eat, That's what employee's said
I was really confused be cause I really didn't understand that why we don't have a time to eat
So I asked nicely "why we can't order any more meat, and why we don't have a enough time to eat? i heard that this restaurant closing at really late night" "can you explain to us if you can?"
there is no employee who speak English well, and we are not good at Japanese enough to understand hard words
So we had some trouble to conversation Then, one of customer translated for us "Other customers come who already booked"
I really upset and there is no one to said to us we have limit time to eat
I complained hard but the employee just repeat "sorry no English sorry"
and so it is, We come out and it ruined our nice dinner time
double booking?? or some kind of racism? hmm...
I went there twice because first experience was good
but second make screwed it but the food...

We went to the restaurant after seeing many positive reviews. We arrived there and were told to go to their other restaurant which was 3 minutes away, which was up 4 flights of stairs in another building. We found that strange.
When we arrived, we sat down and had a look at the menu and the waiter (short indian looking guy) began bringing out drinks and food that we didn’t order. We were so confused and sent everything back as we didn’t order anything and were simply looking at the menu. We told him we’re going to need a few minutes but he was being extremely pushy and made us feel very uncomfortable.
When we wanted to get up and leave because of the horrible experience, they insisted we needed to pay for everything (that we didn’t order). We used Google translate to tell the manager that his staffer was just bringing food and drinks to our table without us ordering anything. They wouldn’t let us leave the restaurant without paying, and we were trying to leave for 15 minutes, and we told them we will pay for the drinks and we want to leave. We ended up paying for the drinks (700Y) even though we didn’t order or drink them.
It’s obviously a tourist trap place. We were told 3 different things by 3 different staff of what was included in the cost of the set.
Needless to say we will never be returning to this scammy...
