Hands down, the best matcha I ever had was a spontaneous stop at Ujishia Gion Tsujiri in Skytree Town. We happened to see it as we were going up the escalator in the mall, and I’m so glad we followed our instincts and stopped.

Matcha lovers, run, don’t walk 🍵💚 Stumbled upon this little gem and was blown away. The matcha desserts? Chef’s kiss. The cream was incredibly light, smooth, and not overly sweet—just the way it should be. Every bite felt like a quiet escape in the middle of bustling Tokyo.

While there’s no seating inside the shop, we were lucky to find some public seats nearby. And honestly? No complaints—the view of the Sumida area was stunning and made the whole experience feel even more magical. Matcha with a view? Yes, please.

I stopped by here when visiting the Tokyo Skytree late last March, and while the line was pretty long, I recommend it! I got a matcha sakura parfait. The quality was much better than I expected for a mall ice cream shop-it was great! The ordering process was quick and convenient even when we had limited Japanese-I believe they used a number system, so it was easy to communicate to the workers.
