Marutake, a hidden gem for tamago enthusiasts, promises a delightful culinary experience minus the extravagant price tag. The star of the show here is undoubtedly the tamago, a Japanese omelette that embodies simplicity yet bursts with flavor.

What sets Marutake apart is not just the quality of its tamago but also its affordability. In a city where culinary indulgence often comes at a premium, Marutake manages to strike a balance, making it a go-to spot for those craving a satisfying yet economical meal.

However, be prepared for a patient wait. The popularity of Marutake means that long queues are par for the course. Yet, for those willing to endure, the reward is a taste of tamago that makes the wait seem inconsequential.

Marutake’s charm lies in its unpretentious setting. No elaborate decor or fancy presentations—just the goodness of tamago. It’s a place where the focus is squarely on the food, and for many, that’s exactly what they seek in a dining experience.

In conclusion, Marutake is where simplicity meets culinary excellence. If you find joy in the uncomplicated pleasures of a well-made tamago and are willing to trade a bit of time for a pocket-friendly feast, Marutake is the...

There are 2 tamago sellers on the same street, we initially lined up for the one with a longer line when we saw that this place had less people lining up, tamago was cheaper (¥150 for 1 stick vs ¥200 for the other stall), and staff looked friendlier / warmer reminiscent of your favorite aunties and uncles during family reunions

While we don't have a comparison because we ended up not trying the one with the longer line anymore, this place did not disappoint because the tamago was soooo good! Best tamago I've tasted in my life and best food I ate in Tsukiji market, hands down

The tamago was warm, sweet and juicy. Very diff from the ones served in restaurants that are made into tamago sushi.

Even if there is a line, they serve very fast because they have some readily available already but don't worry because it's still hot when they serve and tastes freshly baked. It helps that they serve it to you with a smile too!

It was so good that we bought 2 more sticks after going around the whole of Tsukiji Market because out of everything we ate, this was the only one that stood out. Easily my top 1 also during our whole Tokyo trip.

Must...

I was a little confused about where to stand to wait for this since it looks like they cook in batches and then distribute to those waiting. One or 2 other people were waiting, and there were a lot of people just lingering about or in other lines in this crowded area of the market. I figured out where to wait and then the piping hot omelets started coming out. So cheap and worth grabbing for a snack. It was perfectly sweet and fluffy as expected. I could have eaten a lot more!

I stood across the street where it was allowed so I could eat - there are many signs around preventing people from standing at business entrances. Too many people standing in line for the tuna stand are making the...

Tokyo | Tsukiji Outer Market Half-Day Guide 🔥 No-Regret Snacks Collection! 👇🏻 Second visit to Tsukiji, and the Outer Market is still bustling with excitement. Due to time constraints, I could only stay for three hours, but my mouth never stopped! This guide is especially for those with limited time who can't afford to wait in long lines for must-try foods. You can still have a satisfying experience by sampling these treats 😋 ——————— 🔸 A Heartfelt Beef Bowl at きつねや: Located right by the roadside near Tsukiji Market, this place has only four seats but offers standing tables outside. Many locals come here for a quick lunch of gyudon. The beef broth simmers in a large pot, releasing an irresistible aroma. A bowl of beef rice is 750 yen, packed with generous portions of beef. The meat is tender and flavorful. Besides beef rice, they also offer offal rice, and you can add a raw or soft-boiled egg for a small extra charge. Very reasonable prices! ——————— 🔸 Explosive Butter-Grilled Live Scallops: This is a 200/100 recommendation! 🔥 Head to "Oyster Hut Tsukiji Shokudo," where you can stand outside to buy seafood or sit inside to enjoy seafood and a drink. Must-try items include scallops as big as your fist and oysters as large as your palm! The oysters are incredibly fresh and plump, while the scallops need to have their black innards trimmed before being cut into bite-sized pieces. The meat is infused with the rich flavors of butter and searing heat, making it both fresh and delicious! I later found out that Nicholas Tse's "12 Flavors" show had also visited here 🧚‍♀️! I totally got the same experience! ———————— 🔸 Uni Hut: Usually, popular uni rice shops require a long wait. Alternatively, you can detour to "Uni Hut" in a nearby alley, which specializes in freshly opened uni. The uni varies in price based on its size and plumpness. Once selected, you can scoop it up with a spoon and enjoy the sublime sensation of it melting in your mouth. ———————— 🔸 A5 Grade Wagyu Skewers 🐂: If you want to try wagyu without breaking the bank, you can order a single skewer here. The price varies according to the meat's marbling. I tried a medium-priced one, which was already incredibly tender and melt-in-the-mouth! Sharing one skewer among a few people is a good idea, as eating a whole skewer might be too rich and prevent you from trying other foods. ———————— 🔸 80-Year-Old Shop "Maru Takeda" Tamagoyaki: Very affordable at 100 yen per piece, made purely from eggs without any additives. The taste is soft, tender, and slightly sweet, especially when freshly out of the oven and still warm. Delicious 😋 ——————— 🔸 Super Delicious Dessert 🍓 Strawberry Daifuku: Located next to the 5A Wagyu Skewer shop, this place offers several filling options like red bean, matcha, chocolate, and cream. The soft, chewy mochi combined with sweet strawberries will make your heart and stomach melt. ———————— 🌟 TIPS: Many old shops still remain in the Tsukiji Outer Market. There are rumors that due to the 2020 Olympics, the area might undergo renovations, and it's uncertain whether the market will move. So, enjoy the food while you can! 🤣🤣 🌟 Remember to bring enough cash, as many small shops only accept cash. @Uncle Red @Captain of the Squad @Foodie Squad #Tsukiji Outer Market[地点]##Tokyo (東京都)[地点]#
