I came here for a japanese breakfast. The food are very nice. I order a premium gyudon set and another bbq pork set. The gyudon for my taste is better than another competitor. The price is good. The place is easy to find, near to the station. Easy and straight forward to order. The ambience is nice. No complain. Serving is fast. I would recommend this for breakfast

From all the Matsuyas I ever went, this was the worst one. The place is old and badly maintained, the tables, chairs and divisors are visibly worn down, giving an atmosphere of uncleanliness. I didn't confirm if the place was actually dirty, but the atmosphere caused this effect. The service was like MacDonalds, you pick your food at the counter. Maybe this is normal policy for a Matsuya in the exit of Ueno Station, but any other Matsuya I went at least had staff bring food at your table. The food was not the best compared to other Matsuyas, I'm not sure why. Overall I think they need to redo the entire place, else it's not worth going there at all. Sadly this is my worst review in Google Maps so far, but in this case it's...

This place specializes in gyudon. One may opt for just a gyudon bowl but they have many options to customize the meal. Orders are made through a touch screen which gives you a ticket. They have English and Japanese menus which made it easier for us to make orders even if their staff did not speak English. The food was delicious and i would go...
