I stopped trying to get in after the bad service I got just getting in queue. There was nobody taking care of the queue, just some guy screaming from the inside. I think a large party was in line, but were undecided and they all went somewhere else, just when we got in queue. But the clerk apparently thought we were trying to cut in line and kept telling (screaming from inside) us to go to "the back" of the queue, at the time, there was nobody behind us. We couldn't explain or anything. We finally caught someone from the staff outside, and asked about how long the wait would be. He said "we might not be able to give you a table" while rapidly walking inside, which doesn't reply to the question btw... we left immediately. It's ok to be "busy". But the attitude towards us was really bad/impolite. I guess business must be doing so good, they don't need to care much about how they treat their customers. Good for them, I guess. I've been to many salvatore restaurants around Tokyo. This is the only one I had a bad experience. To be honest, I feel they just didn't like my group and didn't want to let me in. I'd like to say the problem was the lack of organization at the queue. But it was not. I don't mind going back in line, even when we were first, if at least I'm...
Read moreExpensive, value offer not in line but place is good in this spring season. Service ok. Oysters: compared to the Fine de Claire subtle taste… those obscene loaf of oyster meat are unpalatable, even factoring that all tastes are in the nature. Ate one for fairness of judgment… left the rest. Carpaccio salad: only 3 meager fish pieces in salada. I can understood that those “antipasti” can be seen as profit making choices … but there are limits. cocktails don’t differentiate from “mocktails” they neighbor on the menu: again behind the “Japanese don’t stand alcohol” argument (so… why “mocktail”? So why 10mn walk away all bars of 麻布十番 makes their cocktails with honest portion of alcohol?) I suspect profit making menu offer. It’s such bad marketing and pricing strategy to still retain the high price ethos of the area BUT not the minimal perceived value requirements. Pizze was decent and hence justify the Italian restaurant classification. Terrasse was nice....
Read moreI like their lunch buffets, which are 1500¥. They include several types of pizzas, several pastas, fried chicken, gnocchi, salads, and a soup. The specific types of the aforementioned foods rotate slightly, but overall, there is enough variety to satisfy. Lunch starts at 11am and gets busy quickly. There are only 4 tables with regular seats in the upstairs loft; the other tables are either outside or barstool style seating. Keep this in mind when bringing small children, as sitting on a barstool or from barstool height can be tricky. For an additional 300¥, you can get access to the drink and dessert bar, which includes iced teas, coffee, and various juices, as well as a fruit cocktail mix, some almond jello, and small waffle bites. The dessert bar isn't the fanciest, but for the price, the drink bar alone is worth it. The buffet is for a maximum...
