Spice Bistro DIYA — Restaurant in Tokyo

We went at a very quiet hour (17:00) due to our long stay at the museum.

Ordering was easy for English speakers and readers, the service was not only knowledgeable in the English language, but also super kind and welcoming.

We constantly got water poured for my partner, every time she nearly finished her cup, and I credit that not for the good service of our waiter, but for his kindness. I think he saw that she wasn't feeling well (besides, I'm assuming that was also possible due to the emptiness of the restaurant at that time).

The food was great, though it's not in such high portions (nor a high price), so order different things from the menu.

Overall the service (of all 3-4 service people who served us) was 12/10 (superb, 120%). The food was great and the atmosphere was so chill and pleasant. It's a bonus to have such clean bathrooms...

This restaurant deserves 10 stars!!! They had the best Indian food 🥘 Lamb chop was melting in my mouth and it was marinated very well! Every single dish we ordered was AMAZING!

Now let’s talk about how friendly and kind their servers were. They were so down to earth and friendly it felt like we were hanging out with good friends! 🥰 This was my husband’s very favorite Indian restaurant in Japan so I want to thank you to all the servers who treated my husband so well! He told me about this place so many times and I was able to finally visit and enjoy for myself as well. I became a HUGE FAN also😍🙏🏻

We used to be loyal customers of Diya when it had newly opened in the Hills 20-21 years ago . Hadn’t been there since 2011 but we were excited about dining here again after ages. The atmosphere was vibrant and cosy . Service was great but food was beyond disappointing, very average . We ordered paneer tikka and we could tell that the paneer was stale . Wasn’t moist and spongy at all . The Lucknowi koftas very heavy but spiceless . The tandoori rotis were hard . Garlic naan was ok . Ginger High Ball was nothing but ginger ale .
