Came here to avoid crazy long lines but it was still an hour wait. Arrived at 11:05am and was in the third round. There is about 9 seats here. I was excited for this but was a bit disappointing. I went for the Matsu course (2200yen).
The serving begins with a fresh hamachi sashimi in sesame sauce which was very fresh and the sauce has a good flavor. The zeitaku don was underwhelming than I expected. I do love the sashimi mix which was well seasoned and very refreshing. However, the rice was unseasoned which is very unexpected and unusual from typical kaisendon. The only sauce they provide is soy sauce. When eating the fish and rice, it was just a bit under seasoned altogether. Adding the soy sauce only makes it worse for me because it becomes salty. I think the broth add a nice touch to the bowl, but it was still quite bland to me. I think adding the sesame sauce really helped.
Overall, I didn’t really enjoy it that much because the taste was too bland for my liking and I prefer seasoned rice. I think it’s worth to try for once but I wouldn’t wait if the queue is over 30 minutes. Definitely overhyped on social media but it was reasonably priced. Service was fast but it was still a long wait.
I do recommend coming to this branch because it’s indoor and they have take out option in which you can buy and eat in the common area at...
Read moreI only went in because, hardly no customers in this location during lunch time or after 1pm. And noticed mostly foreign workers at this location due to Roppongi I guess. Tho my first time, there was couple of sharp fish bones inside of my sashimi bowl so I was shocked, very disappointed. 魚の骨が入っていたのでご注意 Dangerous! People really should be careful that’s for sure!!! When ya go during lunch time-non Japanese females chef serving but at night an old Japanese stubborn man serving the sushi bowl lol one time order mistake by employees and chef made 5 bowls right front of us -chef were pissed at me saying I got a wrong bowl lol I went 3times and it’s definitely good for the price! Especially the price is very reasonable but people finding out that this location has less line so nowadays too many people and i don’t think it’s worth the line unless ya visiting for the first time. And ¥500 add sea urchins isn’t worth for the price here uni here isn’t fresh and they only give ya a very little Uni. Tho i love the ginger...
Read moreAnother highlight meal during my Japan trip! This restaurant was definitely on my must-try list and it did not disappoint! I highly recommend trying this restaurant on your Japan trip.
They have many locations throughout Tokyo, I've heard about the long wait for some of the locations, so decided to go to the Midtown location and hopefully avoid the lines. Upon arrival, there was no wait and we were quickly seated.
I went with the Matsu course, which is includes all the toppings from the base one with additional crab, uni, and salmon roe.
There are instructions on how to enjoy the meal, but you start off with the Zeitaku don, mixing it before adding soy sauce. Two slices of sashimi are also provided, but save that for the sea bream soup. When the bowl is 1/3 full, tell the chef and he will pour the soup into your bowl for you to enjoy the rest.
