Very disappointing meal all round. Up there as one of the worst meals I had in Japan, which is really saying something.

  1. Katsu Don curry, 2800 Yen - it was double or triple cooked. It was so over fried it was inedible. A lot of the meat was just pieces of fat, so it was chewy and couldn’t be eaten. Curry sauce average, cabbage plain. Picture looks decent but it was far from it. The bottom was burnt. Just not good quality meat at all and overfried, tough.
  2. Fried crab leg, 1800 Yen - the worst one I’ve had. It was tiny for that price, filled with batter and the meat was no more than 5cm on the leg. So overpriced, and never again.

This meal ruined a great day out. So disappointed. Reviews are not reflective of the quality of the food here.

Staff all seemed very nice and happy, pity the food wasn’t any good.

Said something at the end but staff couldn’t speak English so felt robbed for paying the price for this meal. So many better places nearby that aren’t close to being this expensive for poor...

I checked their information on Tabelog and saw that the price range for dinner was 1000~1999yen, which was quite reasonable so I went there with my friend. And I felt like being deceived because everything was so expensive. And the taste was nothing special, not bad, but only average. But the worst thing was the staff's attitude. Because of hay fever, my nose was stuck so I couldn't finished my dish and asked for a take-away, I didn't want to waste the food. The girl of the 3rd floor came and looked at my dish strangely (like, "what? a take-away for the leftover?!") and took the dish away without saying anything. When we left, they saw us but didn't say thank you. Their faces showed only the same blank expression, no smile. What? Was I even in Japan? I could find better service at Sukiya. I was tempted to give 1* for the bad service but well their food was not bad...

Came in looking to get good food for the family, but was greeted with Super terrible bad service gotten from two staff. One of the waitress gave a Super bad impression as she was not only not apologetic, it was very obvious that all the excellent service provided was to the locals. They assume that we are from China and provide terrible service, talking among themselves and providing contradicting information among themselves when asked. As well as pretending they could not understand a single word we said when we ask for manager or name for feedback. It was lucky for that one particular staff who is terrible that the manager came up eventually, came and gave us the most sincere apologies to my family. Kudos to the manager but not the staff. 1 star for the service but gave 2 stars due to the manager name Sato. All the time we have been to japan, this...

Dining Experience @ Niimura. . Opened in 1961, Niimura is a respected restaurant beloved for its tonkatsu / breaded pork cutlet, made with Kagoshima Berkshire pork. . Enjoyed the Teishoku / Set Meal (JPY ¥3,500) decided to splurge a little and get the premium option. . A high-quality cut of Kurobuta pork loin is seasoned with shio / salt and black pepper, dredged in all-purpose flour and whisked chicken egg, coated in panko bread crumbs, then deep-fried, finished by baking in the oven. . The batter creates a crisp crunchy crumbly crust around the pork, which is tender bouncy chewy, with meaty bready sweet savoury flavour. . Served with white rice, finely shredded cabbage, assorted pickles, and thick tonkatsu sauce which has a sweet savoury spice sour zesty tangy flavour profile.
