I had been to this clinic over the years and I have to say the service has become worse. We used to have a great doctor there who spoke English named Dr. Sato, but today I found out he left the clinic and had to speak to two different doctors on the same day. I was seeing an outpatient internal medicine doctor for the same issues with my colon. Doctor Sato’s diagnosis and medicine to simply put good Bacteria back into my colon helped a lot and told me to come back in if I had the same problem again. Well months later I have the same problem. The two doctors didn’t even read Dr. Sato’s records about me and tried to immediately jump into getting a colonoscopy. I said no, I think it’s just an infection or bad bacteria from last time, I just needed to replace the good Bacteria. I’m positive that I’m just sensitive to gluten but not celiac and I’m lactose intolerant. But no, they insisted that I had to get blood work, an X-ray and a urine sample and wait one hour to see a different doctor.
This second doctor was extremely rude. Upon entering to hear the test results he immediately tells me that I’m not going to die and there is nothing wrong with me. He told me flat out that either I get a colonoscopy or the results were just normal and I just had a mental health problem. When I tried to explain what my past medical history and test results came up with, he started flailing his arms in the air trying to gesture that he didn’t care to hear my story, and told me that he was just an internal medicine doctor and that he couldn’t even give me what Dr. Sato perscribed. And told me to just eat yogurt. (I’ve got lactose intolerance for goodness sakes!)
The clinic didn’t even take a stool sample, they didn’t even did a swab for Bacteria check like they did at an international hospital, and didn’t even consider my results from Dr. Sato!
I’ll never go back to this clinic again. What a very uneducated and rude thing to do to a patient. I’d avoid this clinic entirely. It may look very nice with nice nurses but unless you have problems that show up on your x-ray or blood test, they won’t try to rule out the problem or work with you.
It’s better to go to the St.Lukes Hospital. Their doctors even out patient internal medicine doctors are waaay more educated about potential other factors that might not appear on the more common tests and are more professional and empathetic.
I mean really... I didn’t even come in to think I was dying, I just wanted a diet suggestion and put good Bacteria back into my gut. Gracious! Such a simple matter! Most terrible service...
Read moreWas here for annual health screening. Giving this place a two star only because of the excellent technicians at imaging , ultrasound , EKG and phlebotomy. And the OBGYN team was awesome . To begin with , the front desk has 4 receptionists handling a patient each , there is no concept of patient privacy , it was hard for me to communicate and also listen to the front desk as there were two other patients less than a feet away . Also, I was grossed out that that front desk staff did not wear any medical grade gloves when they handled patient urine and stool samples (even if secured in a ziploc), this is not a good practice . I was a new patient and I was asked to go change clothes without any instructions to pick up patient uniforms and slippers . Patients in the locker room helped me . The patient uniforms are top notch in quality . The patient flow was handled well with patient numbering system . Plus points to this . The nurses and technicians were all fluent in English and made me feel at ease . I had sent my medical history in advance and the ObGYN was the only one who had gone through the history and asked me how I was doing . The in-house doctor (think it’s internal medicine doctor ) consultation was a joke . He saw me for less than 5 seconds inspite of my medical history . He did not even bother to listen to my lungs and heart with stethoscope . He said I am good to go . I complained at the front desk and asked to see him again . But he was very unhelpful second time as well . I don’t understand why it takes 2-4 weeks to get blood test results back (stool culture and PAP take time and understandable) , the imaging needs to be reviewed by radiologists but 2-4 weeks is too long especially if any severe abnormality in the results . Back home in US, results for blood work were released online in 24 hours . Hope the providers at this clinic understand the need to effectively communicate with patients and they should do their homework if the patient has sent detailed medical history in advance prior to the...
Read moreVisited Tokyo Midtown Clinic today, a Saturday. Stubbed my toe in the shower a week ago and was still experiencing some pain. Did not call in advance, just walked in.
GOOD THINGS: immaculate medical clinic conveniently located inside a centrally located shopping mall; at least one of the gals at the front desk spoke English; Receipt was bilingual in Japanese and English; Only waited about thirty minutes; clinic is open on Saturday.
BAD THINGS: Young internal medicine doctor who used passable English, absolutely refused to X-ray me when I asked and kept repeating that he was not an orthopedic doctor. I left with a few pain killers. I doubt I ever return. I would have been better off going to the ER of a hospital. I get the impression that many doctors in this country think they are always right and your opinion doesn’t matter. I could have had a hairline fracture. Oh, one more thing - they make you wear this silly name tag around your neck like you’re in...
