☕ NOG Coffee Roasters – A Hidden Loft of Calm in Shinagawa
Tucked away in Kitashinagawa, just beyond the rush of Shinagawa Station, NOG Coffee Roasters feels like a quiet breath in the middle of the city. It’s not just a coffee stop — it’s the kind of space that softens your day. High ceilings, warm light, and slow jazz wrap around you as the scent of freshly ground beans drifts through the room.
✨ What makes NOG special:
Lofty, minimal space — part living room, part design studio. A few soft chairs, clean lines, warm wood. It doesn’t try hard — it just feels right.
Coffee with depth — their pour-overs are thoughtful and balanced. The espresso is smooth and never overdone. Each cup feels intentional.
Sounds like calm — soft ambient playlists or vinyl spinning quietly in the background. Conversations stay low. Time slows down.
Seasonal sweets — like the rich yet delicate cheesecake, or the unexpected anko-butter sandwich that hits sweet and savory notes in one bite.
Work-friendly without the chaos — Wi-Fi, outlets, but still peaceful. A rare find in Tokyo.

Read moreWe were living near to NOG coffee for 6 years. It was my favorite coffee shop back then. We moved to a different country around 3 years ago but this time we're back for a nostalgic tour, staying pretty close again. The coffees / cappuccino / flat white / white black / espresso were always prefect and the staff was super nice.
Back then I gave 5/5/5 stars for Food / Service / Atmosphere, but it looks like things have changed.
Today I got a terrible cappuccino. It was super hot (I would argue that it was even close to 80-90C. The milk felt almost burned. The staff was unusually weird, felt like they don't like their job or just don't care. The day before (yesterday) we also stopped by and had a cappuccino but it was in a way off. We know "The Merry" their flagship blend pretty much, but it was weird this time.
I hope the owners and the lead barista are reading these lines and they'll do everything to make NOG the place as good as it was...
Read moreI recently visited Nog Coffee Roasters and had a wonderful experience. The cozy atmosphere and friendly staff made for the perfect morning coffee spot. The decor was simple yet chic, and the natural lighting was lovely. The coffee itself was top-notch and roasted to perfection, and the fact that they offer a 200 JPY discount on your second order was a nice touch. I loved how they take pride in their craft and make an effort to source their beans from ethical and sustainable farms. The staff were incredibly helpful and knowledgeable, taking the time to explain the different blends and roasting processes. Overall, Nog Coffee Roasters is a great cafe to visit whether you're looking for a quick caffeine fix or a place to relax and catch up with friends. I highly recommend checking it out! (I didn't drink coffee but above was my friends' comments, I got the banana shake twice because it was super good if you like the milky...
