A hole in the wall just behind Mitsui Garden hotel when you come out of the Ueno station at exit 1. Great ramen with a hearty rich flavored soup and meaty gyoza; the only reason I put 4 stars for service is there is so little English. It is self service, get a ticket at the vending machine with the minute pictures to choose your meal. Be sure to go armed with google translate or have your hotel write it down if you prefer your ramen (noodles) soft because if not, it is usually more al dente than I like. If you are a bland eater, also be prepared to ask for less salt. For me, perfect. Counter service only.
However😊, despite the language difficulties, the resulting product is still good enough for me to return 3 x or every time I’ve been in Tokyo since I first tried it in February 2023.
Not cheap, prices have gone up a bit since February and if memory serves, the cheapest bowl of ramen there now us 750 yen. Granted the serving is huge. I can only finish half of the noodles if I’m having gyoza as well. No half orders of noodles or of gyoza here only full orders of 6 pieces...

The ramen chef is also nice and I also love how they greet the guest when I entered the ramen-ya.
