Nui. — Restaurant in Tokyo

Absolutely lovely. Dried flowers and branches hang tastefully from the ceiling. The seating is a mix of high stools, low tables, lounge benches, and couches. My favorite place to study is in the corner of the lounge bench which is so wide I can use the seating surface around me to spread out my textbooks.

The menu is lovely in the afternoon and evening. Their mochas and hojicha lattes are comforting and I am grateful to note down another cafe with decaf available as an option. In the evening, a nice creamy chocolatey Alexander cocktail with their salmon mashed potato (which is more like a cold potato salad) is my favorite. Well, it is unless I opt for the melty crunchy potatoes instead. Only complaint is the food is too delicious to be served in portions so small! I have not yet had the pleasure of coming early enough for their brunch, but one day soon!

Great spot for European-style brunches. Quality ingredients, well prepared too. This place has crunchy bacon and fresh sourdough bread. Anyone who's been to a Japanese restaurant knows that their bacon is usually quite sad and floppy, while sourdough bread is practically nonexistent, so Nui's was a great surprise in that regard. Most of the customers seem to be foreigners. The staff speaks fluent English. Quite pricey though, with a breakfast with drinks for two totaling...

Update: Came back for coffee during the day. The hand pour and lattes were lovely. The anko chocolate canele was tasty too. They have strong wifi, comfy seats and good lighting. You have to look out for power outlets as those seats usually are taken up. I would gladly stay here the whole day to work again. 💗
