📍Sushi Joe

Sushi Joe is at a prime location but not the easiest to locate. Situated within a charcoal grilled restaurant, called
Azabu Ryujicho'', we made several rounds trying to find おすしのジョー as google map kept telling us we’re at the location but yet there are no signs of the Sushi Joe Restaurant even as we look up, look sideways, look into other buildings. Finally, I walked into the Azabu Ryujicho charcoal restaurant and asked if they know where Sushi Joe is and they’re like, its here!! We smiled but really wanted to ask why not a sign board?! When you enter this chargrilled japanese restaurant, at the back of their restaurant is a curtain and as you walk pass it, you will find
Osushi no Joe'' with 8 seats at the counter. It's an Omakase place within the restaurant. The omakase experience was different to your traditional omakase. It’s a more modern take to the typical experience, not as formal, not as elegant, rather a friendly, reasonable & lively serving of Chef’s choices. Every dish was served with thought, care and heart. You could feel the chef’s dedication, which was what the experience is all about. The added bonus was that the chef, who is the owner of the Omakase, was skillful, engaging and entertaining. Food was great, ambience was nice and the overall experience was joyful. We had a great night. Good food, good company and good price for this experience. It's worth a try. We wish Joe all the best in making the Road to London a... Read moreThis sushi restaurant is a true gem. The setting is beautiful and meticulously cared for, an oasis of beauty and happiness that makes you feel at ease from the moment you step inside. The staff is exceptionally warm and attentive, making you feel right at home from the very beginning.
But the real star is the food. The sushi is exquisite: every piece is incredibly fresh, flavorful, and presented like a work of art. Chef Joe isn't just a master of his craft, capable of creating dishes that delight both the eyes and the palate, but also a genuine entertainer who brings a unique energy to the dining experience. His passion and dedication to details are incredibile.
I recommend everyone to go eat even if you are a beginner because they will help you understand the route with a smile and a lot of good humour. I wish the best to Joe and all his staff, see...
Read moreWe came here for an omakase meal when visiting Tokyo. We were really looking forward to this as it was our one splash out meal while in Japan.
The food was good, but the vibe was off which detracted from the whole experience.
First red flag was when we asked the chef what his favorite sushi was and he said he doesn’t like fish?? Maybe that’s on me for not trusting a chef who doesn’t like the food he makes.
The next thing that made it super awkward was we were seated next to a lady who was a solo traveller and the chefs assistant and chef kept trying to flirt with her when she clearly was not interested and was getting uncomfortable. Asking ‘are you single’ and ‘is he your type’ and ‘what’s your type’.
Definitely wouldn’t be back and kinda wished we had gone...
