The club location is very accessible as it stands just in front of the Oedo Line Roppongi station and you only need to cross the street. The closest entrance is for VIP and the main entrance is at the back. Staff was very courteous to show the way and accompanied me straight to the doors instead of just saying and making you find out, that was really nice.
There was a time (like 20 years ago) when Dance Clubs were well… dance clubs. In Post-Pandemic 2022, this club feels closer to an izakaya. A drink is 800 yen? If you don’t Pre-Party, your expenses will skyrocket.
The Floor layout is somewhat uncomfortable for three reasons:
If you want to use the toilets, you need to walk back towards the entrance corridor, so you will have to dodge others and start walking with enough time to make it there.
The VIP area, bites dance floor chunks, which leaves less place to… well… dance. There’s no relaxing area for regular customers.
There’s two bars but the closest one is next to the DJ booth where the most hyped dancers are, so be careful when carrying your drink out from being spilled over by a fast move you can’t dodge with liquid. I wish the menu had some snacks, there’s a kitchen but nothing is cooked?
I liked that the staff is fast to clean up the floors whenever there’s drink spillage, but nonetheless you will feel sticky steps whenever you walk around.
Sound and Lightning is first class, but I’m not interested in a Laser Show as much as dancing to the music, which to me is the main interest in...

The good point about Octagon is that it's one of the few places in Tokyo that invites major DJ's playing other styles than techno or house (Other two being Womb or Circus), and you get some drink tickets upon entry, but unfortunately that's also where the good points end for me.
The place can get really packed, the Dimension show was so crazy at points I was just standing in place and hoping not to suffocate. It was like that no matter where you were standing and while this is happening, there are these "VIP tables" cutting space from the dancefloor where nobody sits if they do not reserve it in advance.
Maybe I am just a rambling gaijin, but the place would be so much better if they: get rid of the VIP tables on the dancefloor and keep only the ones on the stairs, actually I think you could make much more money this way because many more people could get in focus on sound quality rather than volume the dancer girls feel very... 90's to me and I would say not necessary, but maybe that's just me open up the dancefloor and add some seating for regular humans around the edges -maybe an area for smokers? You can smoke heated tabacco inside though
For now octagon takes the last place for me. Visit womb for MUCH better...

I recently had the misfortune of visiting Sel Octagon, and I must say that it was a truly disappointing.
First and foremost, let's talk about the club's security. It seems like they've taken a page out of a wrestling manual, with the unnecessary amount of force they use. I was just standing near the DJ booth, minding my own business and enjoying the music, when I suddenly found myself on the receiving end of what can only be described as a WWE-style takedown. It's one thing to maintain order, but this level of aggression was completely uncalled for.
But that's not the only absurdity at Sel Octagon. They have ashtrays on every table, which would suggest that smoking is permitted, right? Wrong! The ashtrays have no smoking signs on them. It's like a twisted game of smoke-and-mirrors (pun intended). This blatant contradiction is not only confusing but also a testament to the lack of clear policies.
To top it all off, if you want to step outside for a smoke, be prepared to fork over 3500 reentry fee. Yes, you read that right, 3500 just to step outside. It's as if they're punishing you for wanting some fresh air or cigarette. This sort of money-grabbing tactic only serves to turn customers away.
In conclusion, my recent experience at Sel Octagon was nothing short of a disaster. I Would...
