This is the worst cafe I have ever been to. If you don't understand Japanese, you'd better not to go there. When we first went in the cafe, the waitress asked us about the type of drinks we wanted. We already said that we wanted 1 glass. And then the waitress said the tea bar was free of charge. We then picked the drinks from tea bar by ourselves. The waitress knew and looked at us. At the end they charged us for the price of limited drinks. They said because we picked the tea by ourselves, that meaned we chose unlimited drinks. Why you didn't correct us when we got wrong? And then the waitress said we TOLD her to have unlimited drinks! She cheated! Their English is poor. We asked if we could purchase other drinks to replace the 1 glass drink fee. They didn't reply directly. That made us confused. We booked through their website. That stated that 2-hour free drink will be offered. But when we arrived, they said this offer only applicable in the afternoon. We booked in the morning. So there was no free drink. And the time would be 90 minutes instead of 2 hours. My question is why you didn't clearly state the applicable time on the booking system? I just think I can book afternoon tea set in the morning, why the terms are different from what on the website? We went there for pre-celebration of my daughter. They asked if I wanted to write a message for her. But they didn't tell me it costed 200yen for that. If they told me, I would still pay for it. But it was bad that I knew it when I saw the receipt.
At the end, we spent over 20,000 yen for 4 adults and 1 child for the breakfast. It is a very bad experience! I will never go there and recommend anyone, especially the tourists who don't understand Japanese.
Except the bad experience on the price and communication, the food is quite enough for an adult. The taste is so far so good. The decoration of the...
Read moreTo be fair, I may be biased since I had a great time at the Pokémon cafe the night before. However, the vibe of this place was just a little sad and neglected with dim lighting. We went on a Wednesday night in August, 5:30pm reservation for the Hello Kitty couches. However, unless there's a specific couch you want, there's definitely no need for reservations. We were one of 2 or 3 parties there. When we arrived, we were asked to order our drinks immediately as there is a one drink per person requirement. We were not seated until that happened, which was a little off putting, especially since we had young children. We were also given our souvenir cards at this time.
The couches were on the small side and low, and the reservation states no more than 4 per couch set. I would definitely abide by this. However, the theming was very cute. The couches were all appropriately colored with plushies to keep you company. There are baskets to keep your belongings out of the way. We had 3 Hello Kitty plushies and some bow pillows which were adorable. My children enjoyed it. There is a small section of accessories you can borrow next to reception, such as headbands and figurines.
I pre-reserved the tiered dessert set and was asked for my two character choices when I arrived. The set arrived shortly after and was as pictured. We also ordered the croissant meal board, potted chicken, Gudetama curry, and the kids lunch plate. All were as pictured as well. As with Pokémon cafe, you will pay for the novelty. However, the flavor was just okay. I would rate it as just acceptable. None of it was particularly memorable.
There is a small store area next to reception.
We got some cute coasters, cards, and souvenirs out of the experience, but I likely won't return unless my...

Reservation highly recommended. A short walk off of the Ueno station! 👍
Also careful before entering! There's a mini step leading up outside before you start to descend to the entrance, I almost fell hard.
We were able to reserve the My Melody sofa for my daughter. Our entire family enjoyed it here, including Dad who never liked Hello Kitty. I was expecting a very rushed experience especially from my son who wouldn't want to visit in the first place, but this luckily wasn't the case.
Ordering is easy with their online system, the food came out in good time. When done, we took our QR Code and paid in the front.
We ordered multiple items including the tri-colored lemonade, apple yuzu soda. To eat, we got a Cinnamaroll charcuterie platter and a their limited edition dessert platter with my Melody.
I really like how they had things for little brother and Dad too. We ordered a kids dish served on a car bento for my son. Everything on this tasted very good and had so much variety (shrimp tempura, fried(?) rice, mini meatloaf, fries, chicken nuggets, broccoli 🥦, mini 🌭, and omurice).... this actually was my favorite tasting entree ....Dad got the arrabiata "potted" pasta with a beer and really liked it.
They also provided these cards that you can play. But this requires another app that we had to download and we foreigners decided to pass on.
Plus plenty of photo opportunities all around, if not on the table in front of you, but all around the cafe.
Many themed restaurants we've experienced in the past often fall short on the food itself, but this place far exceeded everyone's expectations. The quality was great, and our bellies were full in the end. We'd love...
