Shinamen HASHIGO Ginza — Restaurant in Tokyo

Unfortunately, my experience here was quite disappointing. From the moment we walked in, the waitress made us feel unwelcome — no greeting, no smile, just a clear sense that our presence was a bother. When I politely asked about one of the menu items, she responded with a shrug and visibly annoyed expression, which felt unnecessarily dismissive.

Throughout our meal, we noticed her and another staff member whispering and laughing while repeatedly looking in our direction. It created a very uncomfortable atmosphere and made us feel singled out — whether intentional or not, it didn’t sit right with us.

The food itself was average at best, definitely not enough to make up for the lack of hospitality. Sadly, it felt like we weren’t treated with the same respect or warmth as other guests, which, as tourists, was disheartening.

Would not recommend this place if you’re expecting a welcoming or respectful dining experience.

Make sure to have yen (cash only) with you. This place is the true local experience. Staff don't speak English but just point to menu item and smile. My group had the gyozas, #8 chicken ramen, # 9 pork ramen and #3 hot and sour ramen. Everything was delicious. I loved the pickled vegetables on the counter. The broth is very dark and perfectly developed, Wonderful thin noodles and meat so soft and tender. Plus two green long steam veggies for roughage (flavor reminded me of bokchoy light and delicate) Absolutely the best ramen I've had to enjoy. 😋 Writing this review, i'm salivating and want to go back to eat...

Went there excited! Looking forward for the food. Not my first time but i forgot how to order. The Chinese staff were not even helpful at all. I managed to order… food came with mis understanding i ordered 2sets of dumplings but only 2pcs came!!!! I re ordered for more , took some time to prepare… i followed up and the staff got angry and told me to wait like i was a little girl being scolded. The ramen was cold when it arrive… the Japanese staff was so bossy calling the other customers who were waiting in line.
