We were searching for a halal restaurant that serves Wagyu beef in Tokyo, but most places were fully booked. By chance, we stumbled upon TENDERLOIN HALAL Wagyu while walking through the streets of Ginza, and it turned out to be one of the best surprises of our trip—a true hidden gem in the heart of Ginza.
The restaurant has a cozy and intimate ambiance, with only 6-7 tables, making it a perfect spot for a quiet, high-quality meal. The menu offers a variety of premium steaks, including authentic Japanese Wagyu and some Australian options.
The steaks are served in different sizes and come with grilled corn and creamy mashed potatoes, all plated on a sizzling hot grill plate—so be cautious! You can also choose your preferred level of doneness. Each table is equipped with a selection of sauces and condiments, including onion sauce, garlic sauce, mustard, Himalayan salt, and black pepper, allowing you to customize the flavors to your liking.
The menu also includes two types of rice: garlic rice and plain steamed rice. Additionally, they serve delicious Korean-style chicken, crispy fried shrimp, and grilled shrimp.
The overall experience was fantastic. The food was flavorful and perfectly cooked, and the staff were exceptionally friendly and accommodating. To top it off, the restaurant provides a prayer room and a very clean restroom, which was a thoughtful addition for Muslim diners.
Thank you to the team at TENDERLOIN for the warm hospitality and memorable dining experience. If you’re in Ginza and looking for a halal Wagyu experience, this is...

I had heard about this restaurant before visiting Japan but a local chef from a different restaurant had recommended this halal spot so we knew we had to try it.
This unassuming restaurant is located on a corner and tucked away down a set of stairs. It had fairly spacious booths suited for groups of 4-5 people. The staff were so sweet, friendly, accomodating and friendly. They provided a description of the menu, sides and condiments - which they had a variety of - and even offered recommendations on dishes.
The food came out on sizzling plates cooked to perfection. The mash, corn and salad paired so beautifully with the Wagyu steak and the condiments were great. Some were condiments were western staples like mustard, and some others include; raw garlic paste, horseradish, soy sauce, ABC sambal, Japanese steak sauce (like a hoisin onion jam flavour) and I even enjoyed the horseradish salad dressing as a condiment option. I’m not sure of the grade of Wagyu and marbling score but it was juicy, tender and bursting with flavour. It really didn’t need any condiments itself other than the humble seasonings provided on the sizzling plates but great options nonetheless.
This establishment has a prayer space available for those that need it...
Read moreThis spot is open only during the week days. I came on Sunday and couldn’t find it so I settled but really wanted some steak. Finally saw the door and peaked in and found it behind the staircase.
The wait staff was very helpful and asked if Halal was ok (to me it didn’t matter). I noticed that they had a praying corner too which I thought was nice.
Ordered food and shared everything with my wife. We had a cider (she absolutely loved it), I had a draft beer which was good and split a green salad (sorry no pic), garlic rice and some hanging steak.
The food came out on sizzling hot plates so they cooked a little more and rather quickly I might add. I’m glad we shared because it was enough for the 2 of us. Might need a bigger plate for more people.
We might even come back again tomorrow to try other cuts.
Update: came back again the next night. Got the wagyu sirloin cut and some truffle flavored fries. The fries were amazing, a ton of flavor! This place is so fantastic being so close to the hotels. Don’t let the signage outside fool you, it’s...
