1. Food : 4 star. All the food items that we ordered were quite scrumptious and tasty. The karaage (friend chicken) and fried soba came as a pleasant surprise to us. However, the cabbage salad was not really our cup of tea. 2. Portion : 5 star. Quite generous portion commensurate with the price. 3. Ambience : 5 star. Authentic izakaya set up. Congested yet full of joyful noise and unknown conversations. Smoking was allowed and so it may not be suitable to customers who are repugnant to smoking. 4. Service : 3 star. The restaurant had only 1 waitress but food serving was pretty swift and the staffs were friendly and attentive. However, the menu was totally in Japanese with no English description whatsoever, and all staffs were not conversant in English at all. The restaurant clearly only catered for the locals and there was quite serious communication barrier with foreigners / tourists. 5. Price : 3 star. The prices of the items on the menu were considered quite exorbitant, at least to the tourists like us. 6. Location : 3 star. It was located nearby commercial district of Shinjuku but the entrance was very difficult to find. Quite a walking distance from the main street. OVERALL : 4 STARS.
