Yakitori Haretsubame Shinjuku i-Land Tower — Restaurant in Tokyo

I went there this evening to enjoy some yakitori and was not disappointed. The meat is juicy and the taste of the grill is to die for. I personally tried the signature skewers (skin on chicken thigh and duck meatball with raw yolk, both incredible) and some other dishes. Also the beers are cold and the foam is creamy and delicious.

The staff is warm and the atmosphere is very japanese: you have to take off your shoes, sit on a bench that is at ground level and your legs go under the ground level. I went on a weekday night and there were some rowdy salarymen drinking, eating and venting about the hard day of work.

I'm writing this to apologise to the staff, I wanted to make the change round to the 5000 yen but I mistakenly gave them 1 yen less so they gave me a 4999 yen change (that means a bunch of coins). It was not intentional, I really hope they didn't think my mistake was made intentionally to make their job more difficult. I felt really bad all the way to the metro...

Decent Japanese cuisine restaurant with good service

We were looking for an Indian restaurant which was closed so came across this one looking for an alternative.

We entered at 9:30 and the waiter warned us last order at 9:50 No English Not having a choice we entered.

Seating is subterranean to give the appearance of sitting on mats. Place was clean and pleasing.

To order you have to scan and that was a problem because it was only in Japanese. A girl came along who gave us an English menu. So we ordered with the original waiter who now had a problem because he could not understand the English menu!!!! Anyway - we managed.

Food was good. Service was good.

Neighbouring tables were loud. And guests kept coming till around 10:15. What happened to the last order rule!

My family and I were visiting Tokyo and the Yakitori place across the street did not accept us so I found this place as the next option and it was a pretty unique restaurant to sit in at. I was so glad the staff let us bring in a cake to celebrate because it was my birthday that day on 4/7.
