After spending a few nights in Akasaka, I discovered a small café that captivates not only with its charming atmosphere, but above all with the incomparable taste of its coffee specialties. The establishment is run with dedication and sensitivity, among others by two extremely friendly ladies, whose passion and expertise in the art of coffee preparation are reflected in every cup. The coffee specialties offered are true masterpieces: creamy milk foam, perfectly balanced with a strong, aromatic espresso, or subtly spiced concoctions that make every sip a delight. Every cup tells a story of attention to detail and quality.
The café itself is an oasis of calm, bright and inviting. It offers a choice between comfortable seating and more traditional table seating, creating an ideal environment for both relaxed conversation and productive work. Particularly impressive is the pleasant silence that permeates the café – a rare luxury that allows space for concentration and creativity. It's the perfect place for a quick business chat, completing important tasks on your laptop, or simply taking a relaxing break from the hectic pace of everyday life.
I'm grateful to have discovered this gem and had the opportunity to experience the art of these exceptional coffee specialties. If you're in Akasaka, this café is a must-visit—a place that makes coffee lovers' hearts beat faster and creates...
Read moreI went there yesterday, Monday December 23/2024 and ordered a latte and a sandwich. The latte was good but the lady at the cashier offered a terrible attitude and service. She made a point to NOT greet me as I walked in, and didn’t even look at me even when I was standing in front of her at the cashier to order - she kept looking down the whole time without saying a word - and as soon as a Japanese couple walked in after me she greeted them in Japanese - complete different treatment. The treatment is different for “gaijin” and Japanese it looks like . And it doesn’t stop there.
While she was wrapping my sandwich she did it carelessly and dropped my sandwich on the dirty counter because she let it out of the wrapping paper by accident while displaying her zero care for it às she wrapped it in front of me , she didn’t apologize and just grabbed and put it back in the wrapping paper. Like WHAT !!? She really pissed me off and did these things because I’m a foreigner. Terrible service and attitude from this lady at...
Read moreThe picture doesn’t tell the full story. The latte art is great and probably the milk texturing too.
In terms of the espresso shot, it is a weird one. I ordered a short latte and noticed some unique practices. Instead of using the great volumetric function of the great La Marzocco, the barista used the manual function. The story gets better, coffee was slowly dripping drop by drop from the portafilter (not flowing) and the barista sort of eyeballed the process and stopped the machine when the extraction became a stream (the liquid was still very dark). The act took roughly 50 seconds (I watched other drinks being made). I am no expert but I would have thought the grind size needed adjusting.
I didn’t get the full flavour of the 21 grams of coffee that I paid for. Having said that, it would have taken a full hour for the bitter coffee to be full extracted, but...
