I called into the bank to ask to create a HKD Bank Account. The person I spoke to said it was possible and gave me a list of things to bring including my HK ID.
When I got to the bank and asked to create a bank account, they told me it was not possible to create an HKD bank account and that this Branch only deals with local banking in Tokyo. I asked about checking on my old bank account I had with them a while back and they said they are not able to do that as well. While they were very civil, I'm not sure how helpful they are. It seems they are hardly willing to help and it was a big waste of time getting my documents together and not being able to open an an account. I would of appreciated that it wasn't possible if they just told me that in the first place.

I'm extremely disappointed with the service at your bank. I took a number at 11 a.m. to withdraw money, and I waited until 3 p.m., when the bank closed, without being served. For four hours, all five counters were dedicated to opening new accounts, completely disregarding other customers. Is opening new accounts more important than processing withdrawals?
