We had just checked into Sheraton hotel (Miyako - Tokyo) and decided to try something close by. This place showed up with great reviews (google) so we went there.
When we entered we picked the local menu but the lady came by and took those menu from us and gave us a completely different menu with very limited menu selection and prices two times (or more) higher than the other menu.
We ended up paying 8000 JPY per person for a smaller amount of serving - which I thought was outrageously expensive for a small hole in a wall place. The food was average nothing special.

Read moreTop 3 best sushi I've ever had. Cozy, but welcoming atmosphere. The two older gentlemen behind the counter are friendly and greet you when you enter; it's a treat to watch them prepare the sushi and see their lifetime of skill at work.
They serve two types of miso, a lighter and darker color; both delicious.
It is a very small restaurant; maybe room for 20 people total. Also, it's a hard to spot from the street; look for the sign then walk down the steps to the basement entrance.

The chef and staff were so kind to us, and we felt like we had a private experience! Overall, was a bit pricy but given the attention, care, and high quality food we felt it was very justified.
