A Hidden Gem with Mitsu-san's Magic! What an absolute treat to stumble upon IEYASU SUSHI! This isn't your flashy, upscale sushi spot, and that's precisely its charm. It's a cozy, welcoming little place with a laid-back vibe that instantly makes you feel at home. But don't let the casual atmosphere fool you – the sushi here, especially from Chef Mitsu-san, is seriously next level. We grabbed a couple of seats at the counter, and it was the best decision. Watching Mitsu-san work his magic was a masterclass in precision and passion. He greeted everyone with a warm smile and seemed to intuitively know what we'd love. The fish was unbelievably fresh, each piece cut with care and presented simply but beautifully. Every bite of nigiri, from the perfectly buttery bluefin toro to the sweet, delicate scallop, was a little explosion of pure flavor. What makes this place truly special is Mitsu-san's personal touch. He chatted with us, sharing little tidbits about the fish and his craft, which made the meal feel incredibly personal and authentic. You can tell he pours his heart and soul into every single piece he makes. The service was friendly and efficient, and the prices were incredibly reasonable for the quality you get. If you're looking for an unpretentious, genuinely delicious sushi experience with a chef who clearly loves what he does, you absolutely have to visit and ask for Mitsu-san. It's our new favorite casual sushi spot, and we're already dreaming about...
Read moreThis place must offer one of the most affordable and tastiest nigiri in the area. Yes, they do get a lot of foreign tourists but they had equal amount of Japanese and the environment is quite amazing. It’s sitting, not standing (they changed it first week of opening). You order through your phone alacarte. And the chef knows the the perfect amount of conversation. Too much ruins the environment, but proper small talk throughout the meal is ideal. What is best about this place is you can pop in for a quick nigiri snack or stay longer for an intimate evening with the chef. I saw both. Again, this is the most affordable sushi that offered very good quality for this price point with very well paced, a la carte options. Chef was a really nice guy good with English and more fun to practice my basic Japanese. Some good golden era kareoke hits in the background for a more fun, casual environment.
My fish ranking:
A: negitoro, ankimono, chutoro, otoro, hamachi, all grilled fish were good — loved the flounder and daikon.
B- : salmon, uni — salmon had a bit of an of an odd taste for me and uni...
Read moreReally fresh and delicious sushi at this restaurant! They dont have a huge selection but all of their sushi options that we tried were great and generous in terms of sushi portions. Especially liked the grilled sushi options as well as the scallop & eel nigiri! The ordering method is through a QR code with english menu available, and is done piece by piece as he makes them right away and places it on your table, similar to omakase style.
The chef and staff working there are all friendly. The chef was especially nice and his english was very good, making it easy for us english speaking tourists to ask questions and have conversations. He asked us about our travels and kept things fun during our meal.
Definitely recommend this option and we will be happy...
