Read moreI just want to express my disappointment and frustration with this outlet. I dropped by roppongi outlet after several attempts of failed booking via the website, despite showing availability it still doesn't allow me to book. So I decided to head down to the outlet personally to try my luck.
As I stepped in, I asked for an English speaking staff who might be able to help me with this, so I waited. And someone came and I asked bout the issue and then a different staff came and explain to me its a technical glitch and they are really fully booked during the date I wanted to visit. So I left after knowing this.
However I thought it might be ok if I were to leave my email or any sort of communication method as I do not have LINE or local number. So I decided to walk back (note, it was less than 5 mins upon leaving the store earlier on) After going back I asked if I can drop an email or leave any info, to my horror at this point the female host stated to BURST OUT LAUGHING, when she wasn't hosting anyone nor talking to anyone. She stood there as part of the convo and burst out laughing. I felt extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed as this is not what I expect Japan service line to be. As a service personnel, one ought to understand and know that any form of laughing could be directed to miscommunication and misunderstanding. And they shouldn't be doing so especially two person are not speaking the same language
The second staff came back and let me know leaving contact cannot be done, I asked back him what was she laughing and what's so funny about me saying email? He give me lots of excuses and she was still standing there smirking. I teared as he gives excuses on behalf of her and she did not even attempt to apologise or do any service recovery, I don't recall her being apologetic after seeing me cry due to her actions I felt even more insulted and I left tearing due to anger and embarassment that she given to me.
I just want to express how disappointed I am with this incident and I hope no one will have to go through...
Read moreI had a wonderful meal here when I visited. The food was great, the staff were friendly, and the value for the quality and number of dishes was incredible. I have only positive things to say about this restaurant except for the fact that they charged me TWICE for 1 meal service.
As seen in the photo attached, I went there around lunch time but they told me they weren’t serving at that time, but instead could make me a reservation for dinner. The condition was I had to pay for a ‘deposit’ (which was the total price for the entire omakase meal for 2. I went with my friend). I agreed and paid for it, and we had a reservation for that same night at 7:30PM.
That same evening, during the meal, we ordered 2 drinks, a sake and a non-alcoholic drink. Knowing that there would be an adjustment to the price because of the drinks, we waited and paid for a 2nd bill, assuming the initial transaction would be cleared.
I have no proof of this besides my receipts and am no longer in Japan. I initiated a dispute with AMEX and they claim that Tokyo Ten does not charge for reservations, which is completely untrue in this case.
I am incredibly disappointed in Tokyo Ten for what would have easily been multiple revisits during my future trips to Japan, but will no longer be the case considering how they absolutely lied about their reservation procedure.
I am further disappointed in Amex for failing to exercise logic to question why anyone would go to the same restaurant twice in the same day, with no past history of disputes, no late statement payments, and a clear explanation of what happened, and still incorrectly decided to side with the merchant due to a lack of documentary evidence. If I consume / purchase anything, I pay the full price for it, no questions asked. What i’m absolutely upset about is that I have now paid double for a service due to negligence and a biased mediator.
For these reasons, I greatly encourage you to find another omakase restaurant that operates in good...
