We had high expectations for this restaurant, given the chef's history with Michelin stars. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short, especially considering the steep price.
While the quality of the fish was exceptional—particularly the uni, which was fantastic—the overall service and unusual aspects of the experience were deeply disappointing and unbefitting of an establishment in this price range.
The service was shockingly poor, with glaring missteps such as forgetting to provide glasses, neglecting to clear empty bottles, failing to ask if we wanted additional drinks, and even presenting an empty caviar tin as part of a dish's "element" (?). These are unacceptable lapses for a restaurant of this caliber.
The chef's behavior further detracted from the experience. Serving a piece of fish with excessive skin, rendering it absurdly chewy, and handling bills while continuing the omakase service felt unprofessional and unrefined.
Overall, while the fish quality was undeniable, the peculiarities and subpar service do not justify the exorbitant price. We've had far superior omakase experiences in Tokyo for a fraction of the cost. This restaurant seems to be leveraging its past accolades to charge a premium while delivering a below-average experience. Not...

Good restaurant but definitely not worth the price (very high). Food was overall ok, service is terrible, especially for a restaurant which claims to have had 2 Michelin stars.
Booked early in advance and we could not even seat at the counter (we were not aware at time of reservation, otherwise we wouldn’t have booked). Took the “Yaesu Umi Special Limited Course”. Dishes come too fast, with no break at all. After 30 minutes we had already finished the dinner.
Food was overall ok, although in our trip to Japan we had much better food at much much (much!!) lower price.
Service is really not up to the standard considering the price and expectation. Very young waiters who can’t really explain the dishes properly (in English but even in native language I would say the same).
I would strongly not recommend...
Read moreI was quite disappointed by this omakase meal I had today. I had the Reimi set meal, and there was a good amount of food, but the quality was not as good as I expected.
Both the baby tuna sashimi and the toro nigiri still had bits of gristle/tendon attached, so it was basically not chewable. Also, the food is generally quite over-seasoned, which covers up the natural flavours of the food. Service staff were friendly, but could’ve been more attentive in taking away completed dishes. One of the male staff kept sniffling, giving us the impression that he’s sick.
I guess all this is acceptable in a normal restaurant, but not up to Michelin star standard, and I expected better from a high rated...
