Food was great, beef was fantastic pork was a bit dry. Great vegetable options and Haagen daz for dessert.

Service was hit/miss. One was pleasant another horrendous. My 3 year old put her feet on the booth to climb in, we apologized when they asked us not to. I had her sit in my lap so she could reach without using her feet because they didn’t have boosters when I asked. Later in our meal he handed me a booster and said “in Japan kids would never stand on the chair”. Thank you for the unnecessary reminder when you clearly watched us make sure she didn’t do it again by eating awkwardly without a booster.

When we went to pay we noticed our bill didn’t add up to the prices on the menu. Foreigner tax? They wouldn’t explain hut receipt says...

· ayce shabu hidden at the top floor of electronic mall (its where all the restaurants are located at)

· have foreigner friendly english menu available

· went for their lunch special (only their beef was good while pork and chicken sucks)

· but some beef plates tasted too fatty at times so it really depends on the luck of the draw

· udon not tastier than shabuyo

· i dislike how they force kombu broth as an option (just water with one kombu) so you can only choose one soup base

· highly recommend their chicken broth (goes well with their noodles)

· very strict on their time limit

I was in food heaven here... the meat quality was absolutely divine, veggies are all you can eat. I got the kimchi broth and sukiyaki broth, both were so delicious! I explained to the waitress it was my first time ordering shabu shabu and she gave me really good recommendations. I wish I took note of what cuts of meat I had 😔 I think I had one of the first meat sets listed in the menu anyway. I was given a time limit of 1.5hrs (for 2 varieties of soup you get 1.5hrs but 1 variety of soup you get 1hr) but finished in about an hour anyway, I think it's probably to prevent eating too much from the all you can eat bar.
