Teke Teke Nishi-Shinjuku / yakitori — Restaurant in Tokyo

I’ve never left yakitori on my plate until tonight.

I ordered the chicken assorted 6pc, a few hearts, and a few chicken breasts. All of my yakitori appeared to be cooked in a convection oven or microwave. Everything was very dry. Hearts appeared to be freezer burned, they were gross.

A few pieces had been finished on the grill quickly but it was obvious that most of it wasn’t grilled. The hearts were inedible. The breasts were just very dry and chewy.

Fantastic little joint. Been here a few times and it's always great. The food's amazing and the prices are rather reasonable for the quality you're getting. It's all chicken but everything's so good and different, you won't even realize. Be careful, the floor can get a bit sticky/slippery sometimes...not only at this location. May be a thing with the material used for the flooring throughout the chain. To end on a positive, the English option on the ordering touchpads is quite helpful....

Really great atmosphere and well portioned servings! Had the potato salad, which was way better than I had expected. It was flavorful and had pieces of bacon in it. Also had the assorted chicken skewers and chicken meatball skewers. Best skewers I've ever had! Forgot what it was called, but also had the meat filled chicken roll? It was really tasty and was like a dumpling with chicken as the dumpling skin. Overall, it was great and I would definitely recommend this place to...
