We went around 1.30pm, there was a group of four people in front of us, but we were able to sit in around 15-20mins later. There is a limited number of seats in the sushi restaurant, about 8 seats. The sushi sets were really worth the price. They were fresh. We also order some sake and the server recommended us a well-balanced and sweet sake. and even give us free two extra cups of sake and filled to the brim! Best of all, It costs us 1000yen for the sake. 3500yen for the tuna/salmon/all fish sushi. If you know what you like, you can also order the a la carte sushi, which is not shown in the menu. We ordered extra tuna maki, scallop and white fish sushi. Costing about 400 yen per piece. Our bill added up to around 12000 yen for the visit. The price can seem a little excessive but it was worth the freshness of the ingredients and the old sushi chef is really skillful in kneading the sushi rice. At Koromo, the sushi rice was cooked to perfection and each sushi ball was tightly kneaded and does not fell off easily, unlike those in normal standing sushi bars. I usually don’t order Akami tuna in Singapore due to the powdery texture after thawing but the akami slices were really fresh and firm at Koromo Sushi. Each slice of seafood was cut thickly. Although not the best sushi place i have eaten, they are still comparable to some high-end Japanese restaurants in Singapore. At cheaper price. Overall, fresh cut at reasonable price....
Read moreINCREDIBLE sushi in a peaceful, intimate environment where the sushi chef made our food literally in front of us. The staff were so kind and professional. There are only six or seven chairs so you may need to wait outside for a bit, but we got lucky and showed up just after someone had left. All of the details were accounted for, from the presentation, to the rich depth of the sushi rice, to the impeccable freshness of the fish. I've never had sushi like it, and I'm glad we didn't stop at some of the bigger and louder places for tourists in Tsukiji. We had the 12 piece sushi and one of the sushi bowls in addition to sake. (I'm sure the special sushi would have been fun, but this already cost about $70 USD). The staff speak japanese and some English, but it was clear that all of the customers who went there were natives, so it was very helpful for us to be able to speak a few phrases in Japanese, though...
Read moreWent in late with my daughter and both had the omakase set. The chef was very welcoming and helpful, of course checking our preferences and for any allergies. You can choose the size/price for your omakase set, so really everything is customized. I started out speaking Japanese, but the chef's English is much better than my 日本語. I don't think I remember the order exactly, but our set included tamago (egg), chutoro (mid-fatty tuna), aji (horse mackerel), tai (red snapper), otoro (fatty tuna), suzuki (sea bass), sake (salmon), uni (sea urchin), saltwater eel, and otoro temaki, with miso and ocha to finish. We were lucky to be the only two customers there at the time, and enjoyed the descriptions of each fish and some conversation with the chef. It was a...
