I wanted to try the same chain located in subnade but that place is always gets you waiting in line so I came here. Very quiet place with little less than have of the seats taken when I entered. There were plenty of tables along side the wall and single seats in the middle. I got the ヒレロースカツset which was about 1500Yen. Food took about 15 minutes to come out. The outside wasn’t crispy as I expected but the meat itself was crazy tender and juicy. They also gave miso soup, rice, and cabbage and the rice was amazing. Very sweet (not artificially but naturally) and chewy. They offer free refills for all three of them so make sure to get them. Overall, went over my...
Basically, I do not recommend using this pork cutlet restaurant at all, especially during lunch time on weekdays. Because the restaurant is located in the middle of Shinjuku's business district, it's always crowded during weekday lunch hours, and lines to enter the restaurant are a common occurrence. The staff are all very busy, and sometimes they forget to take your order or give you some other clumsy response. The fact that cash only is accepted for payment, and electronic money and credit cards are not accepted, further increases the congestion. On weekends and holidays, however, the restaurant is almost completely empty, even at lunchtime, and you can enter the restaurant and order without having to wait. The staff is courteous and attentive to the elderly and small children. Although the restaurant tries to maintain a uniform quality of food served during all hours of the day, it's rare to receive food of poor quality during busy weekday...
Read moreThe options are less compared to other branches of Tonkatsu Wako. The atmosphere is also not as nice as the other branches. Service was good and the food was on par with the other places, but feels lacking for some reason. Got the katsudon and as always you can have all you can eat salad and soup (but extra rice is not available if you get the katsudon).
Wouldn't recommend this branch when there are other...
