This has been my best sushi experience so far. You get offered a place at the bar where you stand and order directly trough the chef infront of you. The group of around 3 chefs serve around 4 customers each.
Food: The sushi is freshly made infront of you and incredibly tasty, you get offered a large variety of different sushi and preperation methods. You are free to chose if you want to have any wasabi on your sushi. I have tried many new kinds of fish and even the ones i didnt like in my homeland, i have given a go here and enjoyed it greatly.
Service: Quick is the name. The moment you order something, it takes only a maximum of 3 minutes and you will get you food. The staff is very friendly and helps you to understand the menu.
Ambience: The ambience is great, you are supposed to get into the restaurant quickly, order what you want and leave within 15 minutes. While this might not be everyones preference, it does give you the most honest and raw experience of how sushi is made and how stressful a cooks and waiters job can be. This is not a place to have a relaxing long dinner, do kddp this in mind when entering, dont let the line wait for you to relax while not ordering.
Overall this is a must visit restaurant and if i get the chance to get back to Shinjuku, im coming...
Read moreRead reviews and thought should try. Have been to many standing sushi and this is the worst. Some pieces were wonderful but several left a bad fish taste. The place was mostly filled with tourists who spoke no Japanese. The chefs seemed frazzled at time and I got Chotto’ed twice even though I picked an opportune time to order more food. They seemed somewhat rushed at times especially when trying to get orders from non Japanese speaking patrons. Paid over 8,500 yen and left with fishy bad taste after the meal. Go some where else. Looks more like a place for tourists. Try standing sushi in Tokyo station. They use i -pads to order so no need to English and fish is better. Also, does not...
Read moreWow, wow, wow! I’d come here to eat sushi every day if I could. I went twice while staying in Tokyo. There was no wait either time. You walk up to the sushi bar and are handed a menu. Complimentary tea is brought out. Then you can make your order to the sushi chef. You can order as many as you want at once. There are pre-selected sets you can order or a la carte. I decided to order a few at a time and then continue to add more orders as I ate. The sushi was so fresh and affordable, much better tasting than one of the omekase meals I had which was much more expensive. Highly recommend this place if you are looking for high-quality, affordable sushi in Tokyo and don’t need a fancy...
